I really, really disagree. Railroading people is never a good idea. This notion is a root cause of a lot of bad policing. And railroading people justifiably diminishes public confidence and has a corrosive effect on relations between the police and the communities they serve.

Um… I guess I’ll just start here, summary in the spoiler, and restate this time seriously that the I/P thread is totally off the rails, and I’m willing to moderate it by itself to keep it readable. In Pog, and I’m not sure if this is still the case, there was a moderator dedicated solely to the politics thread in that forum and it worked well.

At this point it’s so offensive I feel like it has to be moderated or closed, and I’d like to keep it open if possible. Or otherwise please shut it down. It’s so bad.

I think you'd probably make a good mod if one were needed, but let it run imo. Schlitz doesn't seem to be bothering anyone who doesn't have him on ignore.

Scroll wheels and ignore functions exist for those who want to advocate for murdering children but don't want to see the effects.

I agree with you, but I am no longer willing to moderate the forum. I don't have the power to make someone a mod, but if you want to contact King Spew and offer to mod some or all of the forum, you have my support FWIW.

I disagree with this general sentiment. If David Duke created an account to extol the virtues of the KKK, and he wasn't banned, I of course could put him on ignore or simply scroll past his posts. But I wouldn't do that. I would just delete my account and leave because I wouldn't want to be an active poster on that sort of forum.

This kind of ridiculous statement is what led the thread on its way to the dumpster. I stopped reading it a few months ago because of all the accusations of murder against myself and other regular posters.

Of course I think the best way to fix it would be to ban anyone who does things like that.

I know how to read, and what I read about the CP5 is that they admitted to attacking people in the park. They are violent criminals whether they had anything to do with the rape or not.
