Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic failed, and it became a general discussion thread with almost no moderation related posts at all. And those that were posted were so buried in non-mod posts that it became a huge time drain on the mods to sort through them. Then, when off topic posts were deleted posters complained about that.
This led to the closing of the mod discussion thread, replaced by the post report/pm approach. This has filtered out lots of noise, but has resulted at times in the General Discussion Thread turning into a quasi-mod thread. This is not desirable, but going back to the old mod thread is also not a workable option.
Therefore, I have created this new moderation thread, but with a different purpose and ground rules than previous mod threads. The purpose of this thread is to provide a place for posters to pose questions to the mods about how policies are applied; to bring to the mods attention posts they think are inappropriate and reach the level of requiring mod action; and for mods to communicate to posters things like changes or clarifications to policies, bannings, etc.
Now let me tell you what this thread is NOT a place for. It is not for nonmoderation related posts, even if the discussion originates from a comment in in a mod related post. It is not for posters to post their opinions about other posters or whether a poster should be banned. It is not to rehash past grievances about mod decisions from months or years ago. The focus of this thread will be recent posts that require action now. Or questions about current policies and enforcement.
So basically, this is a thread to ask mods questions. Which means, pretty much that only mods should be answering those questions. If a poster asks why a particular post was deleted or allowed, only a mod can answer that. Everyone else who wants to jump in with their opinion or their mod war story needs to stay out of it. It just increases the noise to signal ratio and does nothing to answer the question.
Everyone needs to understand that this thread has very different rules than the old mod thread and any other thread. Any non-moderation post will be deleted on sight. Not moved to the appropriate thread, just deleted. So don't waste your time crafting a masterpiece post about wars or transgender issues or the presidential election and then post it in this thread. It will be gone. Also, this isnt a thread for general commentary about our mods performance. Posting "browser sucks as a mod" or any such posts that don't actually ask about a policy or request a mod action will be deleted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the moderation of this forum. But this thread isnt for complaining about mods. You are free to go to the ATF forum and make your concerns about modding in this forum there.
So with that intro, this thread is open for those who need to bring questions about mod policies or bring inappropriate posts to the mods attention. Again, it is NOT a thread for group discussions about other posters or for other posters to answer questions directed to mods.
We'll see how this goes. If you have what you feel is an open issue raised in the General Discussion Thread, please copy that post or otherwise reintroduce the issue here.
Thanks.
Pretty much, but it has this camp following in some countries. For some reason it also attracts political interest-groups who think they can achieve something by pack-voting, since practically no one else bothers to vote except the appointed national juries, who have to.
sammy reports that bobo no longer blue, as sammy is bobo's property it would seem he would know about these things
what's going on?
The radical left in western societies is in jail. What’re you making up lies about now
There are actual self defined Marxists, and exceptionally radical environmentalists, in parliaments and at the top level of universities.
There are people asking for a complete legal ban to the use of all fossil fuels in the European parliament.
There is no one asking for gas Chambers for "coloured people" in those same parliaments
Some of the days in Irish are kinda similar,, I reckon Irish is also at least partially based around latin.
Monday- Dé Luain
Tuesday Dé Mairt
Saturday -Dé Sathairn
Sunday- Dé Domhnach
Our Monday & Tuesday is the exact same in Romanian also.
There's other words similar in Irish to Italian, such as King, God, Honey, Egg .
Mean while the Portuguese go with Monday : seconda feira (second day), up and including Friday (sesta feira), then sabado and domingo

In my city we conjugate the plural of the number two in dialect, from Gaelic roots.
Two women isn't the same word as two men in our dialect, same as in your language iirc. Dò / Dua (two masculine, two feminine) in our dialect, from the "galli Boi" pre roman population.
That's how sticky history is
^^ More Luciferous nonsense.

Nothing much, really. I've been slowly reducing my 2+2 activities over the last few months, and since I don't do a whole lot of "administrating" any more, I decided a few days ago it would make sense to de-blue myself so as not to cause confusion when people are looking for "higher up" decisions (which I pass on to Max). I still have the same admin permissions at this time, so once in a while I look after minor changes to speed things along.
Yup, but I actually demodded myself last year from everywhere but a couple of low-traffic forums that had no other active moderators.
Oh, I'm sure I could still manage that. :p
A+

I take it you've heard of Modena City Ramblers, a take on the Irish band Dublin City Ramblers?
You probably won't like the politics in this vid as they strike me as pretty far left but I'm posting it to highlight how their music is quite similar to Irish traditional and the start with the tin whistle is from an old Irish folk song.
More and more long-time posters disappearing and mods demodding themselves. Can't be a good sign for the health of this forum.

Modena is like the small cousin of bologna yes, the city ramblers were around 20-25 years ago iirc

sorry to hear that, i know we had our differences over the years but always felt like you did a great job and always kept your cool relatively well despite how difficult that can be in that job at times
Ok, update to the update. The I/P thread will be back online tonight as soon as my toddler is finished choosing violence over the fact I have no French toast prepared *checks notes* for dinner. We’ll be back with you guys shortly. As always, do not talk about the updates ♥
