I have seen enough diesel results and his β€œcooler” hand histories when he calls it off with two pair on straightening boards to last a lifetime. We watch not for the poker but for the pocket bread, meat cup, the slop bottle for cleaning up after desecrating a rotisserie chicken, the brain fog that causes him to become illiterate, and all the rest. Someone just get me to diesel

he also just classifies hands without any context. a heads up 3 bet pot where you have 86s and the flop comes 864 and you get stacked by a guy who 3 bet 75s is totally different than stacking off with kq in a 5 way pot on akq. but with either hand (not that he'd ever play 86 or kqo) he would just say "running bad again lost 2 pair to a straight".

Lol a benefit is just that... a benefit. And yes airlines do this exact same thing all the time. They change the rates at which points/miles/status are earned, they change the fees attached with using miles/points for flights and they also devalue miles/points. Some airlines give notice to all members, but some don't. Some wait to do it at the end of a membership cycle and some

good rule of thumb with these kinda of things is to use them sooner rather than later (unless you just have **** tons of them then who cares)

a lot of hotels have gone to dynamic pricing on points. 5 + years ago they almost all just had set rates for different hotels which was awesome for the customer. i can remember using Marriot points a few times on busy vegas weekends for the same amount of points a slow tuesday would cost.

Could it be the reason between the Trooper getting an apartment 15 years ago whereas ELD became a nomad since at the origin of ELD the hotel rooms were being comped generously due to covid? Casino comp programs and the tier status merry go round may determine the path of future bloggers would follow to either of two routes - cheap apartment at the Manor or nomadic depending on the cycle of hotel costs.

Remember the one vlogger from Indiana? He owned an apartment building, and would always talk about his family. Whenever he went to play poker, he would purposely not touch the big Horseshoe in front of the poker room. What ever happened to that guy?

Did the guy record recaps while behind the wheel of a pick-up truck? I vaguely remember a mid-western poker vlogger who make some sort of fuss over the horseshoe statue, and who seemed a bit tilty, or maybe was on a downswing. I would imagine he probably had a moment of clarity and quit, or maybe just never came back after Covid.

I was offered a month of free rooms in 2019 during the WSOP at the Orleans.

Now that they have a celebrity dealer, the rates have doubled.

I had a Macallan instead of Fuji, which I thought cost them more.

Having to pay 'resorts fees' would be the end of the way Rice lives his life.

He would have to go to Four Queens which never charges resort fees

https://www.fourqueens.com/frequently_as...

Rice responds to criticism that he is a nit because he doesn't like playing short handed by saying people don't actually enjoy playing short handed. Out of 100 people who say they enjoy playing short handed only 2 really mean it and the rest are lying apparently.

I must've imagined full ring games practically dying out online many years ago as everyone headed to the short handed games.

Of course the cope and lying to himself is next level when it comes to Rice. Yeah of course 98 out of 100 lie when it comes to how they view shorthanded play, because Rice is a ultra mega scared money nit himself that is shitting himself when he cant fold for hours waiting for KK/AA or flopping a set.

the irony in all this drink voucher fiasco is that diesel himself was the reason it got cut out to poker players. Ramsey's and others were billing milkshakes back to cet at 11 a pop .

The Sasquatch of poker. lol

he is a huge nit obviously which is the main reason he doesn't like short handed. but to be fair tons of recs don't like it either.

It's also not fair to compare live and online. Online is basically comprised of a bunch of regs mass multitabling which zero social aspect. Live is a way different game.
Live people have no patience get bored and play dogshit. Online nobody has to do that bc you're getting so many hands.

was Caesars actually paying the full price? Seems extremely unlikely to me.
seems pretty easy for them to only take them at CET owned places.

I did say earlier in this thread if he's actually the reason this change happened. Some cet executive saw his videos and was like why are we giving vagrant poker players all this free ****.

I agree that many rec players doesent like it either, but they are indeed recs and not a fulltime pro like Rice boasts about being. Like i have different expectations for these two groups. Of course LOL at Rice being a fulltime pro pokerplayer, but just mentioning it.

As DGAF amongst others have talked about alot, the really big winrates is coming from late night shorthanded play with straddles on and stuck players on tilt chasing their losses bluffing it off alot more, stacking off lighter++. But this is a different planet that super nits like Diesel basically doesent know excist because they have never dared to explore these games/game dynamics.

Guessing he never played those 5-max tables at Caesar's in summer 2020- those games were incredible

Big Game episode 2 is up. pretty fun show

Spoiler
Show

Phil put on a clinic and then he explained why it worked, which was cool. he played like zero hands the first 35 hands and then was able to bluff repeatedly and build a huge profit.
on the other end. Keating does what he always does, dig a huge hole with bad fishy play and then gets everyone to bluff/call when he has it, so he shoots back up.
still is in a massive hole but cut it in half

absolutely. i love overnights 4-5 handed games. win rates are through the roof.

Amazing, someone should comment about this on Diesel videos and see his brain melt as he comes up with some terrible excuse as he realizes he sliced open his personal golden goose, when he could’ve just made milkshakes in his room with cheap ingredients from the winco.

Also, I don’t knock diesel on the short handed play, because lots of fun players will play super tight when short but then be cold calling 5x squeezes out of the blinds and vpip 100 in 8-10 handed games.

The real problem is diesel doesn’t play as much late night poker as he did when he started the vlog. He was doing much better results wise (for him) in 2021/2022 but in early vlogs he was constantly playing graveyard, now he’s a westgate morning game starter. Doesn’t take BLdSWtTRs to figure out why Diesel hasn’t been winning.

I tried Westgate last week on non Trooper day for the first time, very annoying and odd group of people, left after 30 minutes.

That room was down bad before Timmy ever got there.

That's a modest price compared to many alcoholic drinks.

margins huge on alcohol. would not surprise me if cost of milkshake > cost of most alcoholic drinks.

Casinos love giving free alcohol to gamblers. Expensive dessert style milkshakes every single day to grubby poker room comp/promo hustlers... not as much.

by pig4bill m

Mid tier alcoholic drinks cost a proprietor about 2 to 3$ a piece. So, no.

Mid tier alcoholic drinks cost a (Las vegas) proprietor about 2 to 3$ a piece. So, no.

$2 at the most for a mid tier Drinks ingredients.
A Las Vegas proprietor pays less than $1/Oz for mid tier alcohol.
I can get a liter of Tito's for $20, i'm sure Vegas casinos pay less than I do.

EDC weekend, and Airbnb rates are too high for the Rice man.
And Las Vegas is too hot to roam around homeless for the weekend.
Solution: Road trip !!
I suppose if you're gonna call yourself a poker nomad, you gotta take some toad trips every now and then.
Hopefully Rice generates some content worth viewing on this poker road trip to Phoenix/Talking Stick Casino.
Looks like a pretty nice poker room.
