Obviously it wasn’t the sole intention of opening a casino, but Durango has really filled a lunch void for me with a bunch of options.

Durango has a strong food selection for sure

Went to Chyna Club at FB a couple days ago. Very good Chinese food, some of the best I’ve come across in Vegas. Not outrageously priced depending on what you order. We got all of this plus a couple desserts for $240 plus tip which was enough to have leftovers with 4 people.

Dishes:

Crispy beef
Crab wontons (nice portion of crab in each)
Egg fried rice
Sesame chicken
Crispy duck salad
Jasmine tea smoked ribs
Shrimp toast

Tried the new spot Parm at the Aria food hall which is owned by same group as Carbone. Really great garlic knots, mozz sticks were solid, roast beef sandwich 7/10. Definitely one of the better spots that poker comps can be used at. Didn’t get to try the cannolis but took pic for reference. Will have to go back to try rest of menu

Man parm looks really good! Some of these food hall spots sound better than they are but that looks great.

Round 2 at Parm - meatballs $8, spicy rotini $19, Italian sandwich $17. Everything was pretty great. Haven’t had the spicy rigatoni at Carbone but it might be the same thing for half the price. They make the pasta and sauces from aDef a great spot and should do well, even better when it’s free.

Best pancakes in Vegas and probably anywhere in west coast are at Dupars in the Suncoast. Pro move is to call ahead and get to go because service is slow and atmosphere is not great but the pancakes are amazing. If I’m wrong I’ll take back all the things I said about toca.

100% - DuPar's pancakes are the best. It's like they melt butter right into the mix. Really miss the old location downtown at Golden Gate!

pancakes really good there but for some reason my fav are at blueberry Hill on flamingo late at night. that location only and because of the cooks there on that shift.

amazing.

Good call - Blueberry Hill has excellent pancakes too, and they have a lot more varieties. However Blueberry Hill has 3 locations "on Flamingo" - at Decatur (a little past Palms), Maryland Parkway, and Sandhill. (they also are at Decatur near Charleston)

Lot of comments about Mother Wolf and here it is in an nutshell:

1) Beautiful restaurant
2) Very mediocre and hit and miss service, mostly miss. Not attentive, slow, with weird vibes - on the positive very knowledgeable about the menu
3) The food - outstanding - I did find a couple of the pasta dishes a little over salted but the pizza/flatbread is amazing, the pasta dishes are mostly outstanding etc
4) Clientele - extremely douchey - tons of posers, over the top "need to be seen crowd" but that's basically FB in a nutshell so I guess what can you say
5) Price - neither good or bad - it's priced exactly as you'd think for a new luxury resort with high quality ingredients etc . If you really want value for Italian in the casual dining thread go to Roma Deli and Cafe

my goodness... someone eats well.

I’ve only been there twice but the service was 10/10 both times.

Pardo those were my exact two complaints. Service was a weird mix of absent and arrogant, and our pastas were really over salted and I’m not sure I’ve ever made that complaint.

Yeah I mean I’ve heard people say they’ve had GREAT service so I guess I just got unlucky twice maybe? I’ve def heard it’s hit and miss.

On the pasta, especially the short rib one - like just too much salt and like you, I can’t recall a time I was ever like damn this pasta is too salty - usually the opposite - I mean overall the food is really good but feel it has the chance to be amazing if it could just tighten up a bit

Went to La Fontaine for brunch to use my 250 food credit. For anyone that is tier matching you have to use it all at once (we didn’t know until bill came and kitchen closed). Service was probably too chummy and relaxed for my liking but guy was very nice. Not my ideal atmosphere either, think a French menu owned by non French people in California. Apps were fantastic, my wife got a Mediterranean tomato salad and their take on deviled eggs was great. Main course we split steak frites and burger, steak was very good burger was very forgettable for 38 bucks. Bill came out to $170 before tip with a mimosa for each. Will probably never come back considering Bouchon has one of the great brunches in America and Bobby Flays new French restaurant at Caesar’s was much better than I expected (also haven’t been in ages but brasserie b at aria is much better).

I’m a sucker for steakhouse burgers so I will check out Dons prime at some point but all of the Fountainbleu restaurants leave me feeling a similar way, good nowhere near great and overpriced.

Hearing Lugers is the spot for that. Haven’t been to this one yet though…

Highly recommend both Lugers Burger and steak sandwich lunch specials.

It totally is, my wife and I have probably been ten times in a few months to get the burger. Weird thing with that burger, it looks so unimpressive but is great every time.

Yukon pizza did a collab night with Toddy Shop. Butter chicken pizza and sandwich. Both epic, curry pizza needs to be a bigger thing. Here is the pizza, forgot the sandwich pic.

Toca update - still great.

Secret toca hack - order the hamachi (which you need anyway because it’s incredible), use the leftover ponzu sauce for the salmon. Salmon entree is $38, it’s only $16 as an add on for the Caesar. Same size piece of salmon on both.

Easily the worst Toca pics you've shared. I still might go.

Sorry I failed you. I’ll try harder in the future

My point was that your pics from previous visits were fantastic.

But if you want to get into it, what's going on in the steak pic?

You do realize I'm criticizing the food and not your pics, right?

I’m not sure what you mean about the steak. That **** was 10/10 good
