The costs of trans visibility
Yesterday, Dylan Mulvaney broke her silence: https://www.tiktok.com/@dylanmulvaney/vi....
For context, this is a trans influencer who built a 10 million strong following on TikTok. She took a brand deal with budweiser to post an ad on an instagram, and the anti-trans right went absolutely ballistic, calling for a boycott, condemning the company, and to some perhaps unknowable degree it influenced that Budweiser sales dropped by a 1/4 and
. Dylan speaks more personally about the effect of the hatred on her. What strikes me about this story is that it is just about visibility. This isn't inclusion in sports or gender-affirming care for minors, it was just that a trans person was visible. This wasn't even visibility in a TV commerical that a poor right-winger is forced to see, it was an ad on her own instagram page. We're all in our own social media algorithm influenced bubbles, but from my vantage point it really has seemed that in the last year or so things have just gotten worse for trans people and the backlash to even minor visibility is growing.
We need to do better.
I don't understand how this is your response to a post of mine that doesn't mod you at all.
Its a perfectly relevant example from today's time, about parents who raise their kids as non-binary etc.
That's not the same as a transgender infant, which doesn't even exist. If you're asking if parents can bring their infants to a parade, then of course. The infants won't even know nor remember.

Which definition of the word are you using?
Because it's 4 years old to 8 for europeans
And many trans activists claim by then, you already have a gender identity

JJ understood.
Its previously been a bannable offense to deny the existence of someone that's trans or their gender identify. Only as a mod I think could you just directly blanket do it.

No. I'm talking about parents that decided their child is non-binary etc. And whether or not that makes it so their kid qualifies for the parade. Its a very sincere and reasonable question that reflect reality.
Its a legitimate question. It should provoke and promote good dialogue on the subject.
Are you giving your opinion, or are you stating the framing from which we are allowed to continue?
I'm obviously using the American definition since you know that I'm American and it makes my statements correct. If JBouton was using the British definition, then we can discuss that, but then it'd be better to list ages than to use ambiguous terms.
I don't really think it matters what age its a child but here I'm speaking to an age in which its obvious that its the parents' decision well before a child could develop any such tendencies. ie parents that decide their child is non-binary before its birth and that they want it to choose.
Does it qualify for the parades etc.

How do you think one qualifies for a pride parade in general?
Also, I don't think any parent decides for their child that the child is non-binary. Some parents will not push a gender identity onto their kid, but those parents are allowing the child to determine their own gender, whether male, female, or non-binary. So your whole premise really doesn't make any sense.

Unless I state that something is not allowed, then I am posting as a poster and not a mod.

Ok sorry but as an European i was like "wtf" given infant isn't a baby for my limited knowledge of the word.
Should be adults only (age they can legally pay a prostitute in their jurisdiction if legal, or access porn content) given the level of sexual display.
Unless you think naked people with 50cm dildos mimicking sexual acts are fine for ages for which porn access isn't legal
lol, says the guy posting about infants in a pride parade and arguing the definition of infant as if they are some big gotcha.
Have you never been to a pride parade? Yes kids are allowed in pride parades. Obviously.
You seemed VERY confused

I hope you can judge afterwards how correct you were with this prediction and use that result to craft future posts.
Kids are at pride parades all the time. My kids go every year. We were on our alderman's float once.
lol
Should children be allowed at St Patrick's Day parades? When are they old enough to decide that they look good in green or that they like Guinness?

Hers a thought if you want to bring your child to a pride parade or a St Patty day parade its your choice . Just as it should be the parents choice if you want to teach their child the trans agenda
Just ignoring the casual anti-trans mockery, WTF does "allowed to be at a parade" even mean? You people have been to parades before, yes?
You'll have to ask Bouton about that - I believe he has managed to unite those on every side of this topic in the belief that his question was ridiculous.

An agenda is spreading anti-trans rhetoric like implying they have an "agenda".
The only agenda Trans people might have is to live their lives free from discrimination from people like you who have an anti-trans agenda
