Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
It really isn't difficult. Usernames and the people behind them are real human beings with identities, and posts that are designed to inflict shame on anyone's mental health, physical appearance, or otherwise intrinsic parts of themselves will NOT be tolerated. This will be possibly the one issue that I will very much take a **** around and Find out attitude toward, and I know
Good stuff
I want to say that crossnerd moderation on this topic is not partisan.
She moderated me when I warped nicknames (adding Al- to people who like Hamas) and she moderated ppl who distort my nickname on purpose.
I would prefer a place where I can freely insult someone by nickname changes and they can do the same, but at least they are moderating this for everyone.
It's a very easy to follow rule and we can still express our eventual disgust with claims some people made so, let's all live with it. At least the moderation about this is impartial
Ridiculous. That you are pointing out that you are being extra reasonable when handing out an arbitrary ban is just icing on this cake.
I did warn the thread that I take this issue very seriously, and if someone needs a short break to reassess whether or not prioritizing the mental health of posters is tantamount to βcoddling shitpostersβ, then so be it.
I really like d2, so itβs not something I enjoy doing. But I need everyone to be on the same page on this.
I also want to clarify that stigmatizing someone’s mental health is the issue at hand, and I consider the username issue to be separate but related. Those conversations got combined due to my own confusing edits of the thread, and I apologize for that. D2 is not on a break for the username issue. I’m sorry if that wasn’t clear.
I've lifted d2's ban because I'm a softie and upon reflection maybe this whole discussion wasn't as clear as I'd meant it to be. But PLEASE guys, let us be kind to one another as much as possible. Thank you. ♥
Thanks. For the record, my reference to "coddling" was related to not being allowed to call him "button". I didn't participate in nor reference any posting related to mental health.
The only thing you're allowed to say is that Putin woke up one morning and thought "hey why not attack Ukraine today".
The mods are very serious so definitely tread lightly if you want to stray from that.
how insane is that
An example for bobo to understand better...this is rogan and dr. phil discussion the pandanization of US landscape:panoramic datamization.
scary af. scarier that people dont care. China has been caught spying on us from inside the US many times. They were even caught at a former presidents house. Chinese threat is everywhere

Yes, I realized that after I had a chance to reread things. I apologize for my part in that misunderstanding, and hope you won't hold it against me too much π
I think you should re-ban D2 for 24 hours....or ban me for 24 hours. Anyone is fine and I don't know why people are complaining about a 24 hour ban when I thought that was what we wanted.
Instead of say the completely arbitrary banning of Victor for one month..
Who is moderating the moderators?

How many days left, anyone know? I feel I have to prepare mentally for the shift.
You mean all of them?
I think all of us should refrain from responding to his posts but reliably report every post he makes which violates any rules.
Why on earth should we do this?
Seems to me like trying to start a campaign of concerted action against another poster might fall foul of the rules.
It’s clear from your next post that you don’t want another poster posting here, but this forum doesn’t belong to you. Address the posts not the poster bruv.

Because I think he's the worst poster in the forums and he deliberately poisons every thread in which he posts. I think he should have been permabanned long ago.
You're right that the forum doesn't belong to me, but I don't attempt to quash discussions like he does.
I've said all this before, when he was still participating, and I think a majority of posters here agree with me.
But if he does come back and stops the sabotage, I won't be frivolously reporting him.
Can we please not discuss a banned poster now? He can't respond or defend himself. Discussion at the time of banning makes sense, but there's nothing to discuss now that hasn't already been said.
This comment is not directed at you specifically, but I can say with 100% confidence that frivolous reporting of posts is an ineradicable feature of this subforum.
Huh, I didn't realize there was much reporting going on. Several people have said that they never report even violations which personally bother them.
