OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Personal lives and anything aside from poker is OFF THE TABLE.

ItÂ’s just so great that el diesel is so smart and good at everything while being a complete loser to the point where getting a job as a dealer is a major life and income upgrade to him.

Yup and I count 5 times (by his own admission) that someone has "incorrectly" accused him of being wrong. Rice finds it hilarious anytime that someone questions his infallibility.

i find it crazy that he already considers himself proficient in all formats and the joe mcewing of the Orleans after 17 days on staff.

good for him on padding his bankroll though .

Is Lexy Gavin a total fish trying to sell her training course through her vlogs or what is going on?

I mean, does she ever get a deep run firing tournies almost everyday of the summer? Ive followed her vlogs on and off for like the past 3 years, and i cant recall a single big cash/run from her. Every vlog ends with her getting lol short, then busting outside the money or a mincash.

Oh you want to play it like that I see. Many of you regular posters on here suffer from egomania and it's plain as day. I am no friend of El Diesel and have never met him in person. I don't even know his actual name, oddly enough. I think more than anything, my contrarian views on most topics in this forum don't even stem from "defending" El Diesel, but calling out arrogant know-it-alls when I see them. I really don't see how you all can be so negatively affected by his supposed over-explaining

Yup you got the bullseye again bro,all the reg posters in this thread posting about the clown shows that is Trooper, El Diesel and Pman is diagnosed with personality disorders.

In fairness while Joe Mcewing played a lot of positions he didn't play any of them particularly well. He had a negative defensive value for his career.

Rice being the McEwing of the Orleans is probably a good comparison. Surprised he didn't declare himself the Ben Zobrist of the room.

Good thing the WSOP main event is a live event cause Pman has a -38.2% ROI in online tourneys.

Yes, Thirty eight point two percentage.

In other words, for every $10 you buy into a tourney, you get back $6.18.

For every $100 you buy into a tourney, you get back $61.80.

For every $1000 you buy into a tourney, you get back $618.

Diesel has taught me that this is a the best way to explain such complex things.

If you'd like, I can break down the return for every $10000 as well but I'll stop at three.

Yea, she has a lot of cashes but she also plays a lot of tournaments, there is some decent scores listed, nothing major, she is probably break even after travel costs/etc.

I guess pokerprolabs doesn't have info after the tri state merge and those names a month or so ago, not that that would make Pman's numbers any better probably.

TBF, like 1/3 of Pmans ROI is coming from those Blast games that are under $1. However, it looks like he's played one as high as $20, which to me is akin to playing Blackjack.

c'mon guys

at the risk getting flamed by the thread...

it's unfair to judge a sample that small

his buyins are all over the place as well so simply cashing instead of busting just one of the higher dollar ones he played would have a very different roi number

and even if he is a long term -38% roi player, that's only below average after you account for rake, take his most commonly played game, the $5 blast, which must be raked absurdly high if they give everyone 10% cashback on entries

let's pretend it's a genuine sample that can be trusted, i would imagine these results are in line with the field in general, in fact, probably in the top 50%

given how much tougher online is, that would mean he has a slight edge in live games if he's able to table select well

but mostly, it's really messed up that you guys are treating a meaningless sample size as meaningful just because it confirms your belief, if he were crushing you'd be posting "fish on a heater, wait until the poor guy realizes his actual equity once he gets a real sample in"

can't have it both ways

The online tourney stats were more of a joke than serious post in preparation for him selling the main event at 1.2.

And there's a reason he has a meaningless sample size for someone wanting to be a professional poker player. He doesn't put in the volume.

Breakeven? Highly doubt it. Someone should create a formula that estimates how much people actually won or lose from the Hendon mob numbers.

What if buyin is $500?

I'll take the under as well. Guessing 0.6 or 0.7 for her ROI.

Don't know her and never played with her, but sense I get is someone who is basically min-cash-or-bust.

Being staked into a lot of events and still not having any 5 figure scores since pre-COVID is not a great look.

Compare her results to actual good female players like Christina Gollins or Cherish Andrews.

She's a female Trooper.

What I've noticed is that a lot of people who only casually follow poker have no concept of who is actually good, which is part of why some people are able to sell action at crazy prices. The other part is the parasocial relationship and pure "do it for the sweat" factor. The former is higher with female players since there's a fraction of buyers who will take the -EV gamble for the sake of proximity and attachment.

zero % she is profitable , her vlogs are good and she and bob are a nice couple, but their money isnt from poker profits .

it's a little funny to watch contradict herself on strategy (which she doesnt even realize) .

Funny you said that about the contradiction and how often that happens across all vlogs. They would literally contradict themselves from flop to turn and add ranges that they eliminated on flop.

Playing a poker hand seems a dynamic thing. I've always been willing to rethink ranges as the action progresses:

i.e I put the Villain on (X,Y) as a range pre-flop, adjusted that given action on the flop, turn and river.

Am I missing how to play poker in a given hand .

"Been doing it wrong for over 50 years" is possible., of course"

Of course not. The longer you play poker, the better you are.

Generally you shouldn't be adding hands into their range. The range of hands you assign them should become narrower with the information you obtain from each subsequent action.

Example: Before they act preflop they can have any 2 cards. But after they call a raise preflop you can assign them a certain range based on that information.

Now the flop comes A54 rainbow. Regardless of how they play the rest of the hand you can't put 32 back into their range if you don't think they would call the preflop raise with it in the first place.

But that’s assuming you actually know how to read players and their range.

Which is why we are making fun of these particular vloggers.

What happened to the good old days when you could see scantily clad young women lined up to get into the night clubs instead of obese, losing poker "pros?"

The Paris Hilton era was cool. From fifty feet it looked like 100 Paris Hiltons in line. Then a couple years later it was the "how many creative ways can I expose my boobs without getting in trouble" era. There was underboob, side boob, all kinds of boob.

She doesn't play for money.

She married her biggest cash.

I qualified for the "free" rice cooker at the Orleans. They had already given them all away however, about ten minutes before I went over to the table they were at. Next week is a much better prize - an air fryer. I won't be in town of course. That's a good thing, seeing as how I spent 200 bucks trying to win a $20 rice cooker, and I hardly ever eat rice.

How does Diesel make a mundane job so damn fascinating? You'd think talking about work schedule would not be that interesting. But damn - every day, pure fire!
