Trooper97 vlogs, discussions etc. will be allowed to continue in the new thread. That thread will not be unchained and I will work with the other LVL mods to keep it civil.

I personally am not going to allow a lot of the horrible posting that went on in the original thread to take place and I will be very generous with post deletions and bans if needed.

Posts the are overly derogatory, mean spirited, name calling (including using rude derivatives of names) , and demeaning posts towards any of the vloggers or posters in the thread will be deleted at the mods discretion. If any accounts persistently do this they will be banned or exiled from posting in this thread. In these cases we may issue a warning first.

Accounts that are used only to or substantially to troll post in this thread will be banned.

No personal family information or situations allowed in the thread.

OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Personal lives and anything aside from poker is OFF THE TABLE.

This guy is dealing the WSOP and is doing short daily vlogs.
Worth a view.

Orleans seems better than WSOP for dealing, less of a shyt show and higher ratio of veteran dealers. Diesel got a taste for the tips at 15/30 Omaha 8 and now he wants to deal those bigger O8 and Stud8 cash games the WSOP has.

If he only knew the tips generally get worse the higher up in stakes you go.

C’mon he would have to play bigger than 1/3nl 300 cap to learn that lol

this can't be true.
what does 1/2 - 1/3 get, like $20 an hour?

Yeah doesn't really make sense..... could potentially see it being worse as a % of buy ins but in actual $ surely you get more the higher you go!

He is right. Ask any dealer at Bellagio, Aria and/or Wynn. The tips get worse as the games get bigger. Or ask a waitperson at a local pub versus a high end restaurant.

I thought this was widely known.

It’s an immortal truth that dealers have been complaining about on here since forever.

Once you get above 2/5 NL, the games have a higher % of grinders, who are more likely to just tip $1/hand if they tip at all. I mean there could be parts of the country where the bigger games generate the best tips, but in general you’ll make more dealing 1/2 NL and 2/5 NL. I dealt for 11 years and averaged around $22 per down (30 min) consistently.

Local pubs get better tips than high end restaurants?? Surely that can't be true. I'm not from USA so anything is possible but that is complete opposite of countries I've lived in

Alot of times at 10-20 at bellagio or aria in the past they did pre tipping, and would play a game to see who had to pay time. So what the first card on the flop is corresponding to a seat would be who would pay time for the table, and would include a pre tip, ~$20 was always what i thought it was, never really did the math just paid what i was told. Now 10-20 is more rare to run and when it does it has less regulars since theres not as often an opportunity to play and become a regular player so its less organized and i dont think that happens as often, and i havent played any live cash this summer but i assume they do bomb pots now which is whats happened last couple times i played live poker, but not sure when last time i played 10-20 was.

Some people would still tip, i always tip better than i think normal players do as a form of deception to make people think im not a regular player which may or may not work i dont know but one of the weird things i try to do. Like at 5-10 ill always tip at least a couple bucks then sometimes a 5 if i have a red chip etc, but could just me being insane and nobody is paying attention except the dealer which isnt all that bad of a thing i guess.

Alot of times i think higher stakes players get a bad rap because dealers see them with alot of money and think they should be entitled to be paid more than when they deal 1-2 or whatever when theyre doing the same job, and theres probably jealousy involved too when you see players with stacks that are your yearly income. There are of course cheap people that are dicks, i worked as a waiter and pizza delivery driver in high school and know that to be true, nothing worse than driving up to a million dollar home in a nice neighborhood that took you 20 minutes to get to and they dont tip

I've defended diesel in this thread, I've made fun of him too. But his resistance to improving is irritating. If you enjoy playing a game isn't thinking about it and trying to improve a natural thing to do. Where's the childhood friend at? Bring big poppa back

He probably doesn't enjoy it all that much. He enjoys the yammering about sitcoms and sports, the game, probably not so much. He does it to make a living.

Plus, you can park right next to the poker room, and don't have to hoof it all over the place to get to your next table.

you guys wouldn't believe this but the poker dealers at boulder station make a better hourly than just about any other poker dealer on the strip.

The highest stakes games in Vegas pre-tip 20 or 25 depending on the game. Then they always get additional tips on most pots that go past preflop so they are getting 25-30 minimum per down. There is no way they average better than that at 1/3 or 2/5.

If you play 2,000 hours a year $5 an hour is $10,000.

That is what I call a leak.

Actually after watching a lot of these vloggers I think the answer is clearly no.

8 players fighting for 10hrs in the 50k players championship. The jump from 8th to 7th is 28k so not monumental prize jumps by any means for players who all have 8 figure Hendon mobs.

Worst play of the day has to be Yockey folding KQ pf for 500k more when he still had a stack of 2.2M. He was getting 3 to 1 and closing the action to eliminate Benyamine who was all in for 625k with pocket 6s

If Negreanu manages to close this out for a bracelet he is the ultimate scrapper, being all but out several times throughout the course of the last 10 hours play.

Down to 7 now, Brewer is absolutely beasting it. Looking forward to watching Negreanu's vlog later!

Great stuff. I got brewer or dnegs to win.

ELD reports the floor has backed off the greatest poker dealer of all time from overtime hours. Perhaps he learned the maximization of billable hours during law school however the casino is not on board with maximization of hours.

Diesel being Diesel today. lol

The suits tell the floor to cut down on OT and only allow when absolutely necessary and somehow Diesel thinks somewhere between the request and the execution of the order that all this thought of only allowing the top dealers to get necessary OT hours because it would make the company more money happened. lol

Yeah love how he just automatically assumes that after 3 weeks of dealing he is the best dealer, you can't make it up.

Rice knows full well what he's doing, he's just being a total smart ass about the overtime thing. You can tell by the smug smirk plastered on his face that he's so proud of himself for finding this overtime loophole and exploiting it.

So yeah he was one time at the beginning told that he could go deal tournaments after they didn't need him dealing cash. But he took that as a licence to do it every single time from then on, to the point that they now need to explicitly tell him to clock out and go home otherwise he will just keep doing it.

The poor dear suffers from anxiety if he had to work 8 hours a day, and besides it would interrupt his sleep schedule. Have some sympathy.
