Got back yesterday afternoon from my mini road trip out to Cuyahoga Valley National Park and it was a real good time. Cuyahoga Valley is a strange National Park because it is partially in urban areas. It pretty much covers all of the ground between Cleveland and Akron. On the plus side the Cuyahoga river wasn't on fire 😀 It isn't as scenic as the bigger more famous parks out west but whatta you gonna do when your stuck in the midwest? It did have some pretty areas though with lots of great hiking trails with pretty good elevation changes so it was good excersize too. I still feel a little stiff and sore.
The weather was pretty good but we knew rain was coming in Wednesday afternoon which worked out well because that was when we had planned to go to Canton for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It was pretty impressive and pretty big. It took a couple of hours to get though the whole thing.
The first floor is a lot of general stuff and the history of the NFL. The first thing you see is a room dedicated to the incoming class who haven't been inducted yet. Am glad to see my Bears McMichael and Hester will be there soon. The second floor I found more impressive. That is where the room of busts is as well as a lot of Superbowl stuff. Looking at the display of all the superbowl rings was impressive. The last 10-15 years the rings have gotten ridiculously large and gaudy. The second floor also has a couple of theaters with short 15 minute presentations. The best one had a hologram of Joe Namath doing a presention.
I never did find the wing dedicated to Bears Quarterbacks? But I did find Ditka 😀
The Hall is pretty cool if you like football, have a couple hours to kill and 45 bucks.
Yeah, the Hall is something each fan should make time to go see during their life. It's pretty cool.
Didn't care as much for the rock-n-roll HOF in Cleveland, but it's nearby and good. Makes for a really full day to do both.

We thought about going to the Rock 'n Roll HOF but it seems kind of lame plus one of our group said no because Johnny Rivers isn't in it invalidating it 😀

Does anyone understand spam calls?
I get ~6-7/week, not too bad. Ofc, any number I don't recognize gets swiped away.
Occurred to me yesterday that this might be giving the spammers information: by not letting it ring out, that's an indication that this is truly a live number.
Does it matter?
I love it when blatant pornography arrives in my inbox in the morning. This was written by Oscar Wilde's boyfriend, but I think it works for multiple types of relationships.
I also like the rhyme scheme. I don't know if it has a name--it's kinda like a sonnet except not enough lines, but I think that imposing structure on poetry liberates it somehow. Good job, Al.

In Summer
Lord Alfred Douglas
There were the black pine trees,
And the sullen hills
Frowning; there were trills
Of birds, and the sweet hot sun,
And little rills
Of water, everyone
Singing and prattling; there were bees
Honey-laden, tuneful, a song
Far-off, and a timid air
That sighed and kissed my hair,
My hair that the hot sun loves.
The day was very fair,
There was wooing of doves,
And the shadows were not yet long.
And I lay on the soft green grass,
And the smell of the earth was sweet,
And I dipped my feet
In the little stream;
And was cool as a flower is cool in the heat,
And the day lay still in a dream,
And the hours forgot to pass.
And you came, my love, so stealthily
That I saw you not
Till I felt that your arms were hot
Round my neck, and my lips were wet
With your lips, I had forgot
How sweet you were. And lo! the sun has set,
And the pale moon came up silently.

I kinda doubt it matters, and my phone alerts me to possible spam.
I get spam texts. Sometimes I reply. Last week I got one addressing me as Flora to meet up. I replied with "Sorry, Fauna, I'm busy.
I got another asking me if Elton was home. I replied, "Elton has run off with Kiki."
My son-in-law almost convinced someone to redesign the logo for URI's sailing team. That was just a wrong number.

Of course, there's this from Ruthless People (NSFW):
Hahaha...that scene made me burst out laughing when I first saw it. "I love wrong numbers "
I have an apartment in a huge house. It needed a new roof, and the roofers have been here over a week. They start at 8:00 and finish at 7:00. It's been constant banging morning til evening. I can't use my balcony, and the roofers are surrounding my apartment. I think they might have another week to go.
It wouldn't be so bad, but I can't go anywhere.
Oh, and they work on Saturday too.
The roofers are still pounding away. They are using a leaf blower to clean up the bits of shingles. Somehow, I'm really not pissed even if I'm complaining.

recommend multiple gulps of deep esophageal breath before proceeding to reading the following aloud
this sounds like a perfect pairing opportunity of noise cancelling headphones with extended mind spelunking into musical formations only found along the base of our aural reef
the fringe, all told, is no barrier to cold clear deep blue water
them panic and use stationery to be formal about invitations to events other parts of the year
while coral larvae continue to convene and drum up unpermitted sea wall structures perpendicular to Algarve
In Texas, the roofers start at 5 AM. If you ask them to start later, they just laugh at you. I've roofed in Texas and it's too hot to do it any other way.
It takes them 2 days in Texas though, not 2 weeks.
