Finding a fold = awesome. Showing the table how big a fold you are making = terribad.

Bad take. Showing the sick fold so opponent shows you the quads out of respect and you get confirmation and confidence boost of the correct fold = very valuable.

Also being aware that you showed a big fold and using it to level your opponents = you dont lose anything.

People might even start overfolding against your isos if they think youre sicko soul reader and you get free chips.

So yeah great fold and very smart showing it to the table.

It seems incredible but from all the ME day 1 updates I've seen it seems extremely +EV to 3b jam a2c any time someone raises you on the river lol

People out here folding everything but the literal nut combo

Good god that was embarrassing… I don’t even need to say what….

And it won’t stop….

Christ this guy Kane Kalas is like listening to paint dry

What a fold!

This is why I’m buying into day 2 from now on, I ain’t gonna be folding hands like this

thats an insane fold. I really dont get it though, wonder if he had a live read or something. Cant the guy still have a set of 8s (and perhaps set of 2s) since it was BTN v SB. Only 1 combo of QQ.

Wtf, wasnt this Kane Kalas supposed to be a high level player and analyst?
I guess the donk won playing just some oldschool poker and never looked at a GTO preflop chart.

UTG open
HJ 3bet (56s)
SB 4bet standard size (QQ)

HJ is tanking and Kalas is talking like "what is this hollywood is he really thinking about calling there" and then HJ mucks and they just go on like yeah finally standard fold.

All the middle sc are supposed to continue there 100% and 56s is probably the best one with highest EV. Only JTs/QJs folds because of domination and range interaction.

Would love to see a modern pro MTT analyst in the booth, not some dinosaurus without even preflop knowledge.

Oh yeah and the 56s is very profitable continue in the 100bb chart. It is even better in the spot they were 150bb eff.

I thought Jaka did a great job with that kind of color yesterday.

Helmuth topped himself with this years entrance, I cant believe he got Shannon Elizabeth to participate in this cringe fest, I dont even understand the schtick, whats with the weird Combat jump suits?

that hurt to watch

I can kinda understand why someone would show the QQ in that spot. But why in the world would the other player show quads after that? You’re just voluntarily revealing to the whole table that you got outplayed, and may have prevented your opponent from tilting off in the future.

Me watching Day 1 coverage of the Main Event:

Mizrachi checking back quads on the river v. Hachem's full house, protecting his quads range

Series over for me. Not nearly as profitable as last year but did manage to find a cash.

Played Salute, colossus (x3), mini main, independence, and 3 deep stacks.

Never been so happy to bag the colossus on last day/chance as I went pretty deep in the first day 1s and my buddies had already bagged. Disappointed with how I massively over played my hand in day two. My table draw was fantastic. Entered with 219k, middle of the pack at my table and those that covered, not massively. Not to mention the player profiles were soft as hell. My buddies had 400k and 600k and both had stacks that covered them by 2x.

The mini and independence, had great momentum early only to lose/ get knocked out brutally.

Mini main AJ vs 33 ai on the turn
J67ddA..3 guy said he thought I was on a diamond draw

Independence, QQ vs AQ ai pre
K1064J

Overall I probably played at a C level.

Brutal day of travel back to FL tomorrow but looking forward to do it again next year.

Phil is playing the game. 4bet J5 off, then stop and go with a gutter. lol

Hellmuth complaining about people playing weakish hands is hilarious when he is absolutely clicking buttons with random hands.

Has to be absolutely exhausting to keep the act gping for 12 hours a day

Does PokerGo get a cut for advertising that shitcoin that Hellmuth was promoting during his entrance?

88 seems like a pretty crazy overplay. It’s basically JJ/QJ. I don’t think I would’ve folded but it makes a lot of sense.

Some people are there, you know, to have fun.

This guy on the FT with Hellmuth never stops talking, just non stop

Nice nit-roll Waxman.

Not heard from this guy for a while. Short and sweet...

Dan Bilzerian made an appearance, albeit a very brief one, and was eliminated just two hands after taking his seat in the Horseshoe Grand Ballroom. First, Bilzerian bluffed all three streets, and the majority of his stack, into Derek Reid, who held pocket aces. The very next hand, Jonathan Dwek delivered the final blow as his ace-jack called the shove of Bilzerian, who had queen-five.

He was actually just on HCL like 2 weeks ago with Neymar and the other celebs, being a total tool.

Is Arden Cho “good”, or just attractive female? Never seen her play, but the commentary going with the SO GOOD FOR POKER angle

Hopefully Isildur1 regs for day 1D!
He played the main last year too. And Tom Dwan also had chip lead stacks but he just had to blast it off with stupid agressive plays all the time. Could have just wait for value and get easy money but had to show off some special donk plays and.

Btw why would any pro skip day 1 for main? It is a 10 day event anyway so you are not getting better hourly with the latereg, because day1 you get to play deep stacked against the worst players. I mean if you are really busy or crush the highest stake cash games I understand not playing the main, but if you want to play it probably should maximze EV and chances of winning by grinding out day 1 deepstack phase?

OK, but then we shouldn’t be critcizing how people play their hands either if they are just playing for fun.
