Oh yes in Vegas due to water restrictions they now only bring you tap/ice water if you specifically ask for it. I would say in general if you order tap water or a soft drink it’ll come with ice. The US is the only place I know that does this.

both at La La Noodle and Blueberry Hill they brought water to our table before even taking our drink order.

Wait! at blueberry hill are you telling me they didn’t recognize the possible cultural conflict of offering your Asian wife water with ice?!?

probably the safest place to be is inside one of the big ballrooms playing the Cadillac of games, No Limit Texas Hold'em Poker. will cost $10k but surely it's worth it?

I went to the beach and feel very safe, skin cancer risk notwithstanding 😀

Happy 4th y’all.

Freaking number one again! Now if only we can figure out soccer.

That’s right rest of the world is a bunch of 3rd world savages with no ice machines.

I’m coming back to Vegas for three days to bring more stuff out of storage to Carson city. Already miss a lot of the vegas options, particularly when it comes to sushi, French food, and upscale dining.

Without question hitting:
Bouchon breakfast, Lugar and or nusr burger, sen of Japan, Carson kitchen, charcuterie at Wally’s, yardbird, and probably a big dinner at the bar at guy, cut, Bavettes or delmonico. For new travelers to Vegas, these should all be places to highly consider and outside of guy and cut are all reasonably priced.

ate at Noodle House in Mandalay Bay. got pho soup and drunken noodles. both were fairly standard, although the drunken noodles were not spicy at all. huge portions, like everything in Vegas.
good place to use poker room comps for a nice meal.

We might eat at pricey places, but we only ever ask for tap water. Now that I look back at pics, Partage also gave us a small amount of ice (which I am surprised at). I think every other place had a chilled bottle of water tableside that they fill for you. No ice.

I've been back in Philly for a week and am begging for Vegas weather.

I think water with no ice is sort of normal everywhere outside the US and not just Asia. Europeans are the same.

Do not even try to order iced tea in the UK, they either just don't get it or they're just trying to piss off an American.

You would need to request a glass of just ice and a hot tea. If the iced glass shatters when you pour in the tea, act surprised, apologize with a deadpan expression , and chalk it up to your "ignorance".

Declare, "AMURICA" out loud and politely ask them to bring another....

Tap water in Las Vegas is part rocket fuel, literally.

Google "Timet explosion":

In a classic understatement, the County FD explained,

"Something went wrong," said Mike Cyphers, a chemical engineer with the Clark County Fire Department. "The plant is designed to prevent this from happening, but somehow it exploded.

Stick to bottled water in Las Vegas

Thank you for your non-cited and completely vague explanation.

Yukon Pizza has a a summer burger called The Randy Newman, which is perfection.

What’s on this Randy Newman?

Short people.

Vito’s Queso tacos, two beef one chicken, these were very good, do recommend.

I can’t think of anything more American then iced tea and it’s the one thing of our food culture that hasn’t migrated.

This is true at nicer places they’ll usually bring you a carafe or refilled glass bottle of tap water. If you go to say like a diner Blueberry Hill or something they’re going to bring you a glass of ice water. For that I believe you need to ask for it unless they changed the regulations.

Bavette’s still has the best bacon on the planet. Maybe the best baked potato. Prime rib dip sandwich 9.5/10. Bonus points for the Able Baker Honey Dip Stout on tap. You just can’t ever go wrong at Bavette’s.

I'm not sure what qualifies as nicer places, but we got chillied water without ice at The Henry, which is basically a diner, but got ice at Partage, which is $150+ a person.

Controversial take: bacon is amazing, pork belly is amazing, that super thick bacon that most steakhouses do is not good.

Prime rib sandwich looks amazing though.

I normally agree but the one from Bavette’s is incredibly tender and just the best.

No, this is a controversial take... bacon is overrated. Partage served it on top of wagyu beef cheek. So unnecessary.

I agree the prime rib sandwich looks good.
