I assume it’s related to when both Foxen’s were in final 3 of a tourney and the screeching 2+2 monkeys screamed collusion when one of them made an ICM fold with Jacks or some chit like that against the other. Basically a tight ICM fold against the other was deemed evidence of collusion, which was complete horsechit.

No, it's not poker-related.

Rooting for Foxen and Lena900.

I guess Dunst too even though he gives me arrogant punchable face vibes. Kind of impressive that he keeps going deep in the main like this.

EDIT - There's the "I like wearing suits" attitude and there's the "I want you to know that I'm better than you because I wear suits" attitude.

Dunst has actually relaxed his dress code over the decade+. He used to wear suit and tie to the table, not just sportcoat. Years ago, he said he wanted to treat poker like a profession and dress professionally as if he was a professional going to work every day. I respect that.

I get it. I think I just have a bad memory of when he was deep in the main several years back and had girls on the rail awkwardly sitting around and he was asking them for a kiss for good luck in the middle of a hand. That with the suit thing vibe gave me a weird vibe.

Lots of good players and Nick Palma on that list

It's going to happen!! lol

So everyone rooting for foxen right ? And everyone rooting against the water waster rast ?

Negative. Some of the reasons don't belong here and so I'll keep to myself.

I really enjoy Rast as a commentator for the Triton series. And he's a beast of a player, both cash and mtts. Finally, he's been on this forum for a long time, posting as 'tsarrast'.

Yes but they are intelligent and great views, rooting for Foxens for speaking out. Many pros didnt speak out even tho they agree.

It was the most intelligent take on the subject from any of the top pros. Many tho agreed but just didnt want to comment on it.

MTTg,

Please stop posting your views on Foxen's views.

Next time is a temp-ban.

In your very singular opinion

I don't usually get excited about folds, but that was an amazing read.

No it wasn't. Jesse Silvia basically walked us through it.

I now kind of wonder if the producer has a general decree of "thou shalt not cut away from a hand in progress." Given the holdings, you'd think they would have left the QJ vs 44 vs K9 hand to pick up the action at the other table.

If so, it got broken multiple times last night.

by MTTg k

So stupid. Mateos was playing best poker of all time and I was sure that he is going for a deep run in this main.

Dodges a bullet KK vs AA and then goes broke in AA vs AK cooler.
Its just a luckfest. I thought the pros are taking over and we would be seeing some superpro win this year because there are just so many and they are so good.
But no, some ****ing fish will once again after sucking out 10 times more in this donkament.

You know that poker is a gambling game, don't you? If the best player didn't lose from time to time, suckers like you wouldn't keep coming back.

Yeah I think there will be a significant influx as well, as long as the bigger media outlets with women-heavy audience demographics pick it up.

"First woman in history wins WSOP Main Event" is a pretty insane headline.

It depends heavily on Krissy's willingness to do interviews with these media channels as well. Not sure how keen she is on that kind of thing.

If Foxen wins I wonder if they'd edit this WSOP Main down to 10 60-minute episodes similar to the classic WSOP Mains and sell it to ESPN or someone. Would be interesting to see her run, plus there have been a bunch of wild ass hands to fill out the rest of the 7 hours of coverage.

I think the WSOP deal is already with CBS Sports. There’s no “cutting a new deal” just because a particular individual ends up winning it lol.

I love that people still confuse Joe Serock with Joe Sebock

Someone in the chat last night noted that Joe Serock's dad is legendary poker pro Gary Breenstein.

Between that and "seasonal gondola operator," small wonder why last night's action will rank as one of the most enjoyable WSOp watches I've ever enjoyed.

by AlanBostick k

No it wasn't. Jesse Silvia basically walked us through it.

Wait... why does that make it less impressive?

Every decision seems easier when a) you're not the one in the hot seat, and b) you know what the cards are. That's what Jesse got to do. Mateos didn't. And sure, what Jesse said all makes sense from that seat: given the two stack sizes, Berry's preflop four-bet range has a lot of AA and QQ, and the Q on the flop adds another sizable portion of Berry's range that Mateos now trails. Thus, when Mateos calls flop then still faces a turn bet, his confidence level in his KK shrinks a little more. But that's easier for Jesse (and us) to narrow Berry's range to AA-QQ because we see the AA right in front of us.

Anyway, Jesse Silvia walked us through it, and even he was impressed when Mateos folded relatively quickly. Scott Seiver watched the hand, probably heard Jesse's explanation, then immediately Tweeted his admiration for Mateos in response.

So I'll ask again: why does having a commentator explain a hand make that play less impressive to us as fans?

Yea, the gondola operator shirt was funny, I was thinking Where's Waldo also.

Thought the chipleader Song played well from what we saw yesterday, hope he continues to do well and def hoping he's on the feature table. Also rooting for Foxen, dmoongirl, Tony Dunst. Still anti railing Rast but really I am just hoping someone asks him about the water thing at the table for lols, its never happening though. Would also be curious to see Cantu at a feature table, although would be for an anti rail cos hes an ****. Bound to be others I have forgotten

Cantu and foxen on feature table. Not bad. But after losing guys like negreanu and ivey I've lost a little interest. Will prob be more interested when they're down to 3 tables and the pay jumps become more pronounced . Kinda tough to get excited for tables where everyone has sunglasses on and takes 30 seconds to fold 7 2 off

Losing Mateos and Ivey yesterday definitely hurt the stream. There's still some potential though imo. It's a decent feature table. Think the Song table should be on one of the other two features though.

I mean it’s just hard for me to see, let’s say a 30 year old woman, who’s never played poker… sees a headline on social media and thinks “poker you say? I’ll go try it out”

This commentary is just so, so awful. Stale and stupid.

Can’t believe Song/Caldas, the top two stacks to start the day table isn’t one of the 3 feature tables.

Portugal having 3 of the top five stacks is kind of wild actually.

“A lot of big stacks. A lot of shorter stacks. A lot of middling stacks.”

Brilliant observation, Lon. Love your insightful commentary.
