i am 250 miles up river from zeno so no way to pollute his water.

Is that far enough away?

the father away from zeno the safer you are.

and the further away from yourself the safer you are

Being safe is for people that never accomplish anything worthwhile.

How's it going for those of you out west.

Even here in RI temps have hit the 90s three days in a row. Where I live next to the water, it's foggy and in the mid 70s. I can't imagine how bad things are in Texas.

Not great. We’ve decided this will be our last CA summer (made it 3 years)

This is an excellent point. Also note that safety is an illusion, or better yet, a delusion.

That was the decisive factor in my decision about 7-8 years ago not to move to portland. Instead ive turned Overland Park into my own Portland.

I need to play it safe. I know what I'm like. My friends try to fix me up with their friends, but I know what I'm like. I mean I will meet them, but I know what I'm like.

Dom, I'm doing a lot of traveling this summer (and a lot of pet sitting), but I promise to get out to Vegas next year if the good Lord is willing and the creek don't ride.

I've read many articles about how difficult it is for men to find friends later in life. I think I'd be a complete recluse if I moved somewhere way out of state. I couldn't imagine finding friends at my age. Fortunately, my closest friends from high school and college all live within about a half hour or less from me.

I just want to point out that was a genuine offer of friendship from me fwiw. Everyone is always mean to me on here because they dont understand :(

I don't think we're mean to you here in The Lounge. Most of us are rooting for you.

Ty, and no, I know none of you are mean in the lounge to me and Ive been improving. TY

Im just saying I agree that even really cool people have problems building relationships in todays world. And maybe looking to say hi.

Spaceman, we should go up and pay a surprise visit to Zeno. I always picture him living like Uncle Duke, in a compound with lots of firearms in play. We could grab all his loot, then go into the nearest town and spend it all on hookers and blow.

Just an idea.

Your pal,
Phat Mack

Finally, someone said something that makes sense to me .

Spaceman, I already think of you as a friend...and thanks for reaching out.

John C, we need to play some golf together before we get too old lol

Mmmmmmmmm. Steak night! Just grilled up a delicious NY Strip steak and it was delicious. I usually only get ribeyes but the strips were on sale and it was great. Took me 4 beers to complete the grilling to consumption levels. And now the conundrum? Stick with beer or switch to booze? I prefer a beer buzz to a booze buzz but as a fat bastard a booze is more calorically and alcoholically efficient. I am guessing this is a first world problem 😀

I consider all of you lounge guys friends for life! Face it we have been communicating for over 20 years in some (most?) cases. I have met 2+2ers in Vegas from time to time but never a Lounger?

All my "good" friends are from college. We don't all necessarily live close by but we still manage to get together more often than not. I also have neighbor friends but they aren't the same as the college buddies who really know the real "you" from 50 years ago until today.

all my good friends were found through ask jeeves

Dom, I'm already too old, but I still enjoy it. You're a youngster still.

Dom is a child. That's why we keep him around--it's always fun to see what the little scamp is up to.
