Brunson signed an extension. Way less then what could have gotten.

Pretty legendary.

Now the Knicks title equity definitely went up.

I'm ready for a Knicks vs Nuggets Finals. LETS GO

That is an insane paycut for that amount of time. Obviously, he's going to be fine either way, but holy **** just passing on $100M

even more than 113 reported because he would likely be supermax eligible next year, so more like 150 (minus a year I guess)

probably opts out in 3 years and gets a new deal

wonder if bridges just takes his max extension too?

if these guys are going to take so much less then that makes trading all those 1sts fine really

Cap Savings for the Knicks:

2025-26: $11.45M
2026-27: $12.36M
2027-28: $13.28M

Do I think it would be funny if JB got hurt and somehow missed out on that money he passed on? No, that's ****ing ghoulish.

Do I think it would be funny if the Knicks struggle to get it together for a while and suddenly his incredibly affordable contract leads to his getting traded by his godfather the GM? Yeah, that would be pretty funny.

Im just glad Dolan doesnt have to dig too deep. Big win for JD

Reed Sheppard is ballin

Rick Brunson just got $20,000,000 on venmo

Copper has been scrimmaging with team USA and apparently already looks like a good nba player.

Brunson's study of championship organizations and franchise stars -- Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs, the Tom Brady New England Patriots and the Derek Jeter New York Yankees -- gave him a blueprint for MVP-level players who structured contracts to give their teams the best chances at sustainable title runs.

this reminds me of the episode of "The Shop" when Drake told LeBron and Mav that he studies battle raps for a living

Discounted!!! as predicted by McMuffin. When y'all were just hating. I got them receipts!!!

Why do people keep adding the 5th year he would have gotten on his supermax had he waited next year to make it sound like he passed on that money?

Do people think Brunson will die at the end of his extension or that he will go on a veteran minimum in 2028-2029? if anything he's going to get paid more in 28/29/30 (on a new deal) than had he waited for his supermax next year

He did not pass on 113M, he secured the bag today, leaving money on the table IF nothing went bad next year and he got his deserved supermax and then is going to make some of that money back on his next deal which will kick in sooner than his supermax with a higher cap

Blazers -1.5

4.5 now. Cant wait to lose

lmao bricky james

bricky james is the most entitled piece of **** basketball player I've ever seen. He doesn't even deserve to be in the G-League. Bronny playing in the G-League is insulting to all the players there who care about their craft and who earned their way to compete in it.

Bronny isn't a "real" 55th pick anyway. Something like that chart is entirely disingenuous. He was going to go well before #55 but Rich Paul navigated him to the Lakers, telling teams NOT to draft him.

There was new information. I'm allowed to change my opinion on a player after literally watching him play and seeing he doesn't give a **** at all, other than jacking up ill advised 3 point shots ----> of which he missed ALL of them. And why should he care? Due to nepotism he will have a guaranteed spot on the roster over someone much more deserving than he is.

It's just your first post was pretty bad, that's all.

Was or was he not a "real" 55th pick?

1. He would've been drafted earlier without Rich Paul ordering teams not to take him. Ergo, not a "real" 55th pick but likely a late 30s pick.
2. He would generate much more money for a team that drafts him than a "real" 55th pick. Ergo, not your run of the mill 55th pick.

That Rich Paul stuff was pure gaslighting tho.

The only reason any team would pick him besides the lakers would have been for the publicity/money. Is that worth the distraction? I dunno, definitely not for a team that actually wants to contend. I’d say anyone who wants to actually make the playoffs would never even consider it. So it’s like a handful of pure tankers who DGAF - Wiz? Hornets?

Also Bronnys media value on the Lakers >>>>>>his value on any other team.

Bronny will be out of the league before LeBron is.

I assumed the first McLovin comment on Bronny having other suitors in the draft was a joke, I took it in jest as a jab at Bronny.

As far as how much he sucks? Think that is a very good thing for Lakers, makes it less likely he ever has to be on their NBA roster. Whole thing can just be over and done with.

If he was a little better but still not close to NBA deserving, that is an even bigger waste of time.

He’s gonna be on the roster man. No way he doesn’t get in at least one game with dad.
