Like, is it a measuring cup? Nope...it's a metallic measuring cup! Haha, gotcha! How dumb would that be?

Measuring spoons

Arguably utensils. Arguably not for holding liquid, but I think that's fair

Soda can doesn't seem right, but everything else seems worse.

This

That's why I said these questions were answered terribly if it's any of those things.

Also, nobody would use "metal water bottle" as their thing...they would just use "water bottle". It just ends up far too confusing otherwise (and stupid).

If he had just been thinking of "water bottle", but then we started asking questions about its composition, he wouldn't have much choice other than to answer based on the one he travels with. In my case, it would be metal. In 1975, nearly all would have been metal (I think).

would the median usa adult male in 1975 likely own a metal water bottle or straw?
what objects are common between you and your grandparents?

I don't know for sure (and irtm wouldn't either), but my guess would be yes. My father and grandfather would have both owned one. And I had an old metal army canteen when I was a kid in the 70s.

Totally disagree. None of these questions were asked based on his specific one. And besides, the plastic question was asked before the travel one even came up.

8) The medium US female likely does own at least one.

And this at present? Everyone owns a nalgene. Not a metal one.

If the answer is water bottle, I'm calling shenanigans.

Eh, mine is (mostly) metal. Vacuum sealed double layer keeps water cold longer than anything else I've found.

I would have answered questions the same way as him for that.

In my house we have metal measuring cups too.

Haven't you guys heard, plastics are killing the environment!

Could ask if most often used to hold water or alcohol

But basically leads to specifically water bottle or flask.

Soda can / measuring spoons also out there.

I'm coming around on soda can as a very real possibility.

I think at this point the best question might just be to ask if the correct answer has been mentioned.

I'm sure flask is impossible.

This is going in circles, I'm gonna burn one.

Is it either a water bottle or an aluminum can (like those used for soda and beer) ?

Is that a valid question? Seems weird to me. But if so, not a bad strategy.

I think that would be legit, but I just asked the next Q.

Ya good Q
Happy to get on with it.

Yes.

All in on soda/beer can.

I realize questions can be difficult to answer sometimes, but I'm really not a fan of a couple of these answers if it's actually water bottle.

Agreed.

Is it an aluminum can?

by AmazingErvin k

Aren't these a cooking utensil?

At this point I'm thinking

Spoiler
Show

irtm has a lucky can

This was a half joke but now we're really here aren't we lol

by chillrob k

Is it an aluminum can?

It is.

I mean, technically my item was a soda can. But I guess I'd be kind of a dick to say that ya'll didn't get it because you didn't get the specific type of aluminum can.

Pretty surprised ya'll got there based on where you were on questions 10 - 15. Well done!

Was waiting for soda and then having to guess which type and you going nope, it was 7up

by REDeYeS00 k

although aluminum cans are common for carrying coffee and/or tea

In what world?
They are common for carrying hot items when they conduct heat super well and could burn the crap out of people??
