Pretty bad turn
That sucks this is going to be so much less interesting to watch now.
What did i tell you?
The internet nerds wrong again.
I don’t know enough to say whether that was a good call or a bad call, but I do know that it was a completely unnecessary call.
They probably made a deal.
oof
I don't know Griff's 3-bet range, but did Astedt put him on AQ-AK as that huge a part of it? THat's surprising, but Lena is a much better player than I'll ever be. I'm kind of confuzzled.
Important to note that Griff has been extremely active today.
My kneejerk analysis is that Astedt ultimately just expects to be up against the semi-bluffs a lot here.
If it's something like AA or QQ, you still have a lot of river outs. If it's the unlikely set, you're not totally dead.
eagerly awaiting everyone on twitter twisting themselves into a pretzel to defend Astedt
I'm trying to do it in my head right now.
To what extent did he overthink it, given the opponents he normally plays? Or has Griff been much splashier than I'm giving him credit for, and thus could have a wide variety of holdings?
EDIT: Okay, Lena himself just said Griff is "a wild one," so I guess yes, he did assign him a wide range.

"Today" has been like seven hands, and Griff has just been getting dealt decent hands. Not like he was just spewing every hand
These guys did a deal at the last break last night. Only way this makes any sense. The table was noticeably looser afterwards.

I think the delay hadn't come through yet. Griff had been blasting out of the gate, but we could see he just had it.
Yeah but he is the only one. And he’s the same guy that folded QQ.
Against the average online grinder, I can see that being a very close call, but against an amateur I think a lot changes. Talking to Platt and saying "he should be trapping his big hands sometimes" gives me the sense that he misjudged how Griff was playing.
Lena forgot this wasn’t the Sunday $5k on Stars.
Seems fine. This is short handed no limit poker. Can't be nit folding much. edge-wedge be damned - in fact the reason anyone can have an edge short handed, is because they fight for pots - not fold like a nit.
Ali Imsorivic (sp?) chipleader of Closer
That will get some of y’all fired up
He's got every combo of KQ to call with as well.
432m in chips doesn't make for a very big physical stack.
They colour up too much. I want to see big stacks.
As long as that blinged out idiot behind Tamayo stays out of the background, I hope this lasts awhile. If he is, I want it one and done lol
...and that is why Lena's call was so bad
Reason #47 the PokerGo chat can be pretty amusing:
Someone just referred to Tamayo as making both a "crying call" AND a "nitroll" at the same time.
