Venetian poker room changeup

Per a poker news article that just dropped, it sounds like a 50 table room with modern electronic equipped tables will be opening this summer on level 2. Will also have a dedicated room for streaming and vlogging.

Glad to see a casino expanding and upgrading their poker room in Vegas, especially after the Venetian has kept shrinking theirs every few years.

Venetian parking garage could be a nightmare trying to get out sometimes and it was still a long walk to the poker room.

Palazzo (if you know where to park) is awesome. I have upgraded card for free parking but even if you don't I think it's 3 hours of poker to get it free for the day.

What is MUG on the wait list?

People said that a lot, but once you get into the hotel, it was down the escalator and straight 50 yards or so to the poker room. You could easily see the sign from the top of the escalator.

In the old room it was 3 hours of play in a cash game or 75 hours in the last year (like at MGM properties). Not sure about tournament players.

I would be surprised if it’s any different in the new room.

Another thing I like is you are away from all the smoke in the casino.

I did see a review from a smoker complaining that there is nowhere nearby where people can smoke though.

A lot of places were at $1.50-$2.00/hour going into the pandemic.

Wynn is still at $1.50 an hour which feels like $1 an hour with how expensive everything is in there.

Yea, the mall is nonsmoking so there is no smoke creeping in from anywhere.

Bathroom in the room is nice, plenty big enough for normal but with big tournament field I don't know how 4 or 5 urinals and some stalls will work. lol

Speaking of tournaments, it's pretty cool how you can see everyone's chip stack in real time in the app and on a tv screen in the room. I guess they use RFID chips? Not sure how that works.

Do smokers have to go all the way down to the Palazzo casino floor or did they put somewhere in the new room for them?
There are already too many people who hit their vape at the table and have to be told that it’s not allowed. This is going to happen all the time now if they don’t have a closer option to smoke other than the casino floor.

You can take the elevator down 1 floor and you are in Palazzo casino and smoke. About a 30 second walk to it from the front of the poker room.

I haven't seen anyone vaping in the recent old room or the new room so far.

A lot more than 30secs especially when the elevators are busy.
If you haven’t seen anyone vaping you’re not observant enough. They try to be sneaky about it, but I catch someone doing it almost every time I play.

Thank you. That was the information I was looking for.

Right now (on a Monday at 9:10 pm) the Venetian room has 18 tables, Bellagio has the next highest at 17, South Point at 14, Aria at 12, Wynn at 11, Horshoe at 9, Orleans at 8.

Resorts World only has 3 tables going.

It's not necessarily in real time. Usually it's updated every break and at key points in the tournament (end of days, redraw, final table). The dealers do this work on each table by inputting each player's stack into a tablet that's connected to the software.

PokerAtlas is far superior to Bravo. It's actually insane it took so long for this type of software to start pervading into the game. Wynn, Venetian, Thunder Valley, Texas rooms, Playground are all on it. Hopefully WSOP follows suit.

Is it free? If not, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for WSOP to get on it.

No it ain't until it's able to get more players than Bravo.

WSOP should have WSOP+ or whatever it's called by next summer, unless GG changes that.

The Texas rooms are a particular case. Initially (and still?) Bravo refused to even offer their app in TX due to the gray market status. Thus PA was the only choice.

From a user perspective I prefer Bravo. Some of that is familiarity but the are aspect to Bravo I prefer.

I believe in some aspects Bravo significantly hurt themselves and sat on their laurels. They are still dominant in many areas but PA have some pockets. From what I understand and see, it is not possible to run both (that would be weird) so rooms have to choose one or the other. This choice has generally appeared to have two drivers. First is which app is prevalent in that area. Second is cost (seems PA significantly cheaper, but I do not know that).

So far, Venetian could start a trend, switching has been uncommon.

Wynn switched to Poker Atlas earlier this year.

I prefer a simpler interface specifically for checking status of rooms as opposed to a overly packed application that tries to be 'value added' and a news source.

They have acquired some % of the strip poker business with that hourly comp increase, its easily apparent when you look at the daytime numbers room to room when all of the promo grinders, regs, and OMC are around. It will be interesting if it will continue.

Something tells me that they are doing a favor to certain properties by not attempting to spread any LHE.
