Las Vegas Fine Dining Thread
Hey,
So I'm compiling a list of places I need to go to, never been before but I have so far been told that we should hit up:
1. Nobu at the Hard Rock (seafood but like fine Japanese food)link
2. N9ne at the Palms (stakes imo)link
3. Ago at the Hard Rock(Italian)link
4. Prime at Bellagio (Stakes obv)link
5. CraftSteak at MGM (STAKESSSSSSS) link
6. Mesa Grill at Caesars (some kinda grill?) link
7. Fix at Bellagio (i have no idea i read the description, this could be ANYTHING) link
8. SW Stakehouse at the Win, obv stakes, for some reason wynn has the worst godamn website ever so no link=/
9. Bouchon at the Venetian (french, head chef is Thomas Keller, guy is fcking sickkkk) link
anyway, add to my list or tell me to avoid places on my list for reasons.
Please don’t. Vegetarians are mostly clueless about food unless they focus on specific cuisines like Indian, Mediterranean, etc. These vegetarian for all cuisines like crossroads and tacotarian just suck.
Let's find a compromise. He eats and posts what he likes, but you are no longer forced at gun point to read about or eat fod that doesn't appeal to you.

Haha I take this thread seriously ES2! Even you called it, you felt good eating healthy but it’s not like that is a dining experience you would remember fondly.
Yeah, I’m not a vegetarian, I’ll make it up by eating only meat he night before
btw, the tomato tartar at Bazaar Meat is probably one of the best vegetarian dish I've experienced.
Yep we have one in chicago. Very good.

On that note, they have this eggplant "steak." That's the one thing I tried that I didn't care for.
It's not actually bad, but just kinda boring and bland.
Usually, the more these vegan places try to simulate a meat dish, the worse it is, at least from the POV of a meat eater who can have the real thing.
I may have posted this but Barry’s has some great vegan entrees.
I don’t like the mouthfeel of eggplant. I mean, we can always go Italian, they have plenty. I imagine we will end up at mother wolf on Sunday
I kind of agree with Balbomb that sticking to a certain cuisine is probably better. However, having a group of people agree to a certain fine dining cuisine where at least of few of them are vegetarian doesn't seem like an easy task. And I'm not even saying Bazaar Meat isn't an option.
I would also find it odd if anyone that dined at Eleven Madison Park found it an experience they didn't remember fondly.
Ironically, most steakhouses are very good for vegetarians. Great salads, stuff like grilled asparagus, rich savory potato dishes and good desserts.
Usually a bit tougher for vegans since many of those things have dairy and eggs, so it's good to know Barry's has vegan stuff.
Yes and SW (ymmv) bc steve wynn is vegan and all his* restaurants have a vegan menu.

How did we go from Crossroads is generic to "Great salads, stuff like grilled asparagus, rich savory potato dishes and good desserts."
This is fine dining?
I’m spoiled having lived in LA and now chicago, so I’ve probably been to 15 or so Michelin star joints to date. The friend I’m going with not so much, so maybe “upscale” instead of fine dining. But I’m pretty set on mother wolf one night and crossroads the other. I’m now going to go grind my own chuck to make burgers for dinner. With a salad!

I'm sorry if I assumed that it was supposed to be fine/upscale dining focused on vegetarians. Obviously a lot of upscale places have a vegetarian menu, but not necessarily focused on it.
Just go to Miznon for a few bites and then a steak place to split up steak and the veg options.
as long as you ask the kitchen to not contaminate cutting edge knives with bloody meat juices
First time ever at SW Steakhouse yesterday and it was easily one of the best steakhouse dinners I can remember.
Pretzel bread - 10/10, best steakhouse bread in Vegas? And still free (for now) while other steakhouses are starting to charge for it
10oz wagyu strip steak (wet aged version) - 12/10, just phenomenal. Perfectly cooked, perfectly cut (no gristle/fat chunks), peppered crust amazing. Top 5 steak of my lifetime easily. Worth the $135.
Maple bacon with shallots - 6/10, bacon was too thick and not tender enough. Only slightly disappointing part of the dinner. Bavette’s bacon forever reigns supreme.
King crab toast - 10/10, both of us agreed this dish was incredible.
Tuna tartare - 8.5/10
French fries 8.5/10
King crab tater tots - 9/10
Peanut butter chocolate mousse dessert thing - 9/10
Whistle pig old fashioned - 9/10, fairly standard old fashioned but done very well
Spicy margarita - 9/10 pretty interesting one
$330 plus tip. Worth it.
Happy Birthday!

I have no doubt the steak was good, but I'm pretty sure it would get a 7/10 score at best in the OOT steak thread. I know gray band isn't quite as important, but I don't think a 50% is optimal.
SW is fantastic, but I have had a better steak at STK and it's not even close.
I thought the rest of the meal look good, btw.
EDIT: And I understand that the 2nd piece in looks potentially much better. If the rest are that way, then it's obviously much better, but it's why I try to take a pic from the middle.

All I know is it tasted ****ing incredible. 12/10 easy.
all looks vvg. Happy Birthday!
I have no doubt it tasted great, but it is not perfectly cooked.
I didn't think it was wj's birthday as the dessert wasn't facing him, but happy birthday if I am wrong!
wj94, I appreciate your contributions to this forum. SW is obviously elite. I'm criticizing the steak and not you.

Lol I give wj enough grief but you read my mind Randall. I had three mediocre or worse experiences at sw ten years ago and haven’t been back. Too many great steak houses in vegas to deal with mediocrity.
Bazaar Meat, SW, and CUT are at the top of the list for me based on quality of the meat and consistency.
Some Japanese restaurants get overlooked.
é is the best steak I've had in Vegas and I'm not sure it's close.
Think I would go with cut as tier 1, tier 2 bazaar, prime, Bavettes.
Best steakhouse in vegas history and it’s not close to me because the pasta was extraordinary and they had tier 1 steaks was carnevino. My favorites now are bazaar meat, delmonico (you can avoid steak and rest of the menu is still great and bourbon list is fantastic) and recently added Bavettes (great place to sit at the bars if you’re single or romantic date).
