No idea what we're talking about but Queers for Palestine are without question my favorite people. Being pro-Hamas as a ''queer'' when you know they would throw you off buildings for being exactly that is something special.
thrown off buildings in Gaza!
do we got a cite for this? you called me some names earlier and now you post this. bc I really want to hear about all the gays they throw off buildings?
google tells me that like maybe 1.5%? of men in the world are gay

like, thats a lot of building flinging.
they proly throw so many off of buildings that it kills passers by a lot too.
ahh, well I guess we can thank Israel for eliminating all the buildings in Gaza. they are a saving life!
victor, you're trying to attack obvious rhetorical exaggeration here and that's patently dishonest
it's sad seeing you do that
you know for a fact just how bad it is for queers there and how much it'd be under a hamas led state
this is the equivalent to someone saying the Warriors will crush the Lakers tonight and then when the lakers lose by 20 you claim they weren't crushed at all, in fact, look at them, they are all still upright, not once were they knocked down and crushed
you're clinging onto semantics here instead of agreeing that they are indeed feckless idiots
they can both agree with your beliefs but be absolute morons for doing so and that doesn't mean others who subscribe to the same belief are necessarily wrong for doing so
stop living in a binary us vs them world
Im not clinging to semantics. you, and betraisefold, made some pretty serious claims. I am just trying to find some confirmation that all or even moderate percentage of these people will be thrown off of buildings or stoned to death. so far, Ive only seen some pivoting.
note that I am not arguing that Palestine is an inclusive society for gays or anything like that. I wouldnt know and from what I have heard it is not. however, thats a far cry from just murdering gay people all the time. I am open to some info on the topic.

I'm not going to argue with you how gays are treated in Muslim countries. This isn't a secret or a conspiracy and gays being thrown off buildings by Muslim extremists has happened before.

Ngl dude, you're awesome. This was pretty funny.

ok so I guess they arent killing gays en masse. glad we have reached that consensus. altho, tbh, I wouldnt know. they might be!
so now, it looks to me like Israel has killed far more gays than Hamas or "Islamists". but again, I am only going on broad stats. Israel has killed ~200k so I figure at least 1% of that number were gay.
and then we have the Israeli intelligence apparatus targeting gay men on grindr to turn them into spies. seems bad. that seems like really anti-gay to me.

Aah yes, the Arab-Muslim countries are known for their high coming out rate and tolerance of the gays. Not at all a known fact people in those countries don't exactly share they're gay with their community.
Aren't there laws in some of these countries that punish same-sex sexual activities with death?
Maybe I'm wrong. It's always possible.

If I agree that Israel is bad for gays, will you agree that if there was any buildings left standing in Gaza and a gay man told a Hamas member he was gay, he'd be thrown off?
Seems fair?

ok but we are talking about Palestine. theres like 1.5 billion Muslims and google tells me 49 countries are Muslim majority. they arent Palestine which is the subject at hand.
you want me to find some Christian countries that do crimes against gay people? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Homos...
look, I shouldnt even need to say this but I know that it is probably not the best life or super safe to be out and out gay in Gaza or the West Bank. and that is why Israel tries to use them as spies. which ofc creates a vicious cycle where gays are always suspect for that reason.
but I just dont think its fair to say they are murdered en masse. I could be wrong and not aware of the murder rate. thats why I asked.
victor, go walk around gaza right now screaming queers for palestine and see how well the palestinians react to your supportive presence
The highlighted is interesting, because I am pretty sure 21st century western liberals are the only group of humans in the history of humanity that believe this. You could not find another example of any society, contemporary or historical, that thinks this way. And even in liberal societies, it is normally a small class of educated liberal elites which follow such an ethos.A
Obviosuly we have very different views but maybe at least we can understand that we have different views that commonly causes a dissconnect in undertsanding. There is a bias but it's not the bias that woudl exist under your overall view because we dont hold that view.
I think we should absolutely hold our liberal democracies to a higher moral standard than dictatorships, terrorists etc. That higher standard is by our our moral view which we think is better. If soemone think communism is a better moral system then they should do the same.
Lol, Victor arguing that "Israel have killed more gays" because some % of the people Israel killed were incidentally gay is... something.
In b4 "The plague killed more jews than Hitler, why aren't you guys so mad at the plague?"

omg this is an amazing analogy.
how about this hypothetical. country x invaded country y, but country x loses 100x more people because country y is the superior military force and country x doesn’t give up despite being routed militarily. who exactly is worse morally in this situation? is country y not actually completely morally justified?

I would blame the people who intentionally caused the plague.
your analogy is pretty bad tbh.

The analogy, as with all analogies, only stretches so far. The point is that directly comparing an act or event that intentionally targets a certain group to an act or event that incidentally affects that group in the same per capita ratio as their representation in the general population is the sort of braindead equivalence drawing you've become renowned for in these parts.

the plague is not an "act" in that it does not have an intentional human perpetrator. well usually not. I am sure it has been used as biological warfare before but usually it has not been (I dont think at least, could be wrong!). kinda like how Israel is using Polio now (and did in the past fwiw).
the intentional mass murder of Palestinian civilians is an act by a clear agitator. my guess would be that a gay Palestinian is a lot more worried about Israel than Hamas. or the plague. again, I could be wrong! but I am pretty sure they dont like bombs dropped on them even if they are "incidental".
There a guardian article on this topic

Correct, it is not an "act". Hence I said "act or event".
I would imagine your average gay Palestinian is only more worried about Israel than Hamas as long as Hamas doesn't know he or she is gay. If Hamas were to find out they are gay, that calculus might well change. Hence people pointing out that the "Queers for Palestine" movement are a bunch of morons. Might as well be "Turkeys for Christmas".

and a big reason why that calculus would change is bc Israel is well known to blackmail gay men into becoming spies. so that is a legitimate security threat.
now, it wasnt long ago that gay men in Britain like Alan Turing were harassed and ruined. perhaps without Israel doing psyops to destroy the fabric of gay society then a more inclusive ideal would arise.
but I think its pretty sanctimonious and hypocritical to just blame Islamists when the track record of treatment of gays in the West has been pretty awful the last few generations.

I think we made good progress today. we established that the Resistance did not behead any babies. we established that gays are not murdered en masse in Gaza or the West Bank. we established that the number 1 threat to gay men in Palestine is from Israel.
