but it's just wild that kamala is doing her best to channel hillary clinton up there - debating this fool should be the easiest thing in the world but they'd rather spew memorized talking points that they force in
if kamala just earnestly answered the questions and came off as a relatable person and react to and call out trump on everything he says she'd be crushing this but it's as he's not even there and she's practicing her talking points alone into a mirror
a major key to writing is to understand your audience and make sure the dumbest reader you'll have can understand what you are writing
trump speaks in ways everyone can follow (when he doesn't ramble incoherently at least)
kamala speaks in such a complex and convulated way that I think a lot of people will just find her pretentious and arrogant instead of thinking "she's hard to follow because she talks like a university philosophy lecturer"

I don't think this debate will move the needle, but Trump is not doing nearly as well as he did against Biden. Kamala clearly came in with a plan to bait Trump, and it is working.

Kamala has done quite well imo, and frankly, a bit better than I expected. She seemed nervous during the first ten minutes but she seems very comfortable now.

Yes! I almost had to stop watching because of the first two minutes, but she finally seems confident. After this debate she needs to do more interviews. Go on podcasts, go on the lex friedman podcast screw it. Stop listening to the advisors and just let it rip.
She's been shockingly well-coached by her handlers, and whoever advised her to keep tilting him with little jabs is really on the ball.

I guess if I was going to have a critique of Kamala, is not fighting for the last word at least a few more times. I understand just letting his idiocracy stand on it's own, but you also don't want to look weak.

I treat Trump broadcasts like I do the Kardashians, I try to completely avoid them so that the network doesn’t get high advertising dollars for providing us such trash.
I will say, Kamala was one of my top choices in 2020 so it’s nice to see her finally get her shine. I have said for a while now that she needs to ditch her Hillary Clinton advisors that she picked up in 2020 and just be confident in herself, and tonight she did.
