Quick room comps question:I recently spent 9 days in Vegas and, for the first time, have received a couple of offers of free rooms since I got back home to the UK.The first offer was only valid until the end of September and the second was until the end of the year, but it's unlikely I'll be able to make another trip so soon.Question therefore is: how long are they likely to ke

Is it me or did everyone who stayed in Vegas since 2023 get that same Rio offer? I also did (despite spending $0 at Rio since 2011)

I've gotten a "four free nights in a masquerade suite" offer through December 28. Don't think I've been to the Rio since the series left, and not to Vegas in general since 2022 (ish).

I got an offer for 5 nights at the Rio, and I haven't stayed at any hotel in Vegas for 8 years.

I would be interested if it were really free, but since it's actually $50 + tax, I'm unlikely to use it.

Got the same offer, 5 nights thru Dec 26. Does the Rio even have poker anymore?

Does the Rio even have poker anymore?

no and their old poker room is gone (replaced by slots).

The Rio is undergoing a bunch of renovations on the casino floor area. idk if they are overhauling the rooms as well though.

The info I was sent said they have renovated some rooms, but not yet finished, so they are charging more for the rooms that haven't been worked on yet.

I imagine the comped rooms offered to us low rollers are the older ones.

This seems correct, since I got booked for the Masquerade Room - hoping some variation of the $20 trick can get me into one of the renovated rooms

The Ipanema Tower have recently been renovated, and the rooms look pretty slick from what I have seen on YouTube.

Masquarade Tower still looks like crap apparently, but there are obviously plans to renovate these ones as well.

No, they are the renovated rooms. They did a fairly good job on them. There's a youtube somewhere, might even be on 2p2.

edit: Well, the room I got was renovated anyway. They mention it in the email, so it's not really a mystery if you're being offered a renovated room.

Is MGM Rewards down for anyone else?

Anyone training or having their kids training in Vegas? I took it up almost 2 years ago with my kids and it's been fantastic in many different aspects of our lives. There are quite a few gyms in town, curious if anyone else has taken up or plans to?

UFC is headquartered there last I heard. There are a bunch of mma gyms with big name fighters attached. Assuming it was BJJ you're asking about.

215 & Jones

question for anyone who knows downtown - i am going to a festival at downtown LV events center in october. thinking about where to stay, and considering golden nugget for proximity vs. el cortez for price / character. trying to decide if the extra walk back and forth will be a pain. have also read that you sometimes run into delays coming into GN on weekends because they check ID's - that sounds terrible after a long night of jostling concetergoers etc.

Feels like GN is a much better experience and the price difference shouldn't be much.

El Cortez Rooms are nice... they were redone a few years back. my mom loves to stay there when shes in town with her friends and the rooms are good.

Anyone usually grind the nugget? I'm not far from there seems dead in the morning times , and mostly NL

Amazing games almost every time I have played there. Can be a bit passive/OMC-heavy earlier in the day though, but evening games are usually awesome 😀 I always make it a point to play at least 1 session at GN whenever I am in town.

Um.... no.

It would be like going on Vacation to Riverside/Norco.

The only thing worse than playing at the Golden Nugget weekdays during early hours would be to play HU vs Allen Kessler and the blinds never increase - thats the definition of hell.

Go to GN Friday/Saturday late at night and you will find tons of action, the buyin is uncapped and people go insane.

1. Seems like a good discussion for Venues and Communities plus….
2. Then we might know specifically which Nugget though I assume you mean LV
