New fast food discussion/review thread

OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

A la carte is like 90+% of how I order fast food. The thought of a fast food sandwich AND fries/nuggets just isn't for me. Some days I do crave fries, so that's what I order. A large fry....that's it. If I want something like a whopper then I'll just order that.

And I never get a drink. This is always during the lunch hour and I figure I can make it 5 minutes back to the office to quench my thirst.

I'm probably a weirdo.

same for me. ordering a la carte is probably one of the reasons i frequent the bell.
not trying to find the best discount on soda and potatoes so i get to try a few different items for a similar price

These days, most of the deals favor select a la carte ordering. It is rare when I order a combo or meal.

On a related note, I hope this October that Taco Bell offers the Taco pass again. 30 days of tacos!!!

I only order a la carte. I don't want a drink ever or mostly any of the extras (except fries).

Yup. A lot of BOGO sandwich deals or add a specific ala carte item for a super low price. If you app, combo meals are wack.

yeah the apps are always asking you if you want to "make it a meal"

**** you I do what I want πŸ˜ƒ

IF U APP, COMBO DEALS R WACK
repeat 3x

Example: free any size fries with big Mac purchase

We know the lie that is Big Cola

Yeah combo meals are for non app users. Rick's is the only place I get fries and/or a drink usually. They're the only place where drinks are a reasonable price and the fries are always free. I am bringing the food home to eat so a $4 large soda is not needed.

yeah getting a large unsweetened ice tea for $1.50 at Rick's is pretty good.

Getting a $1 small unsweetened ice tea and refill it 10 times is better. :p

Your title of FF value king is well deserved.

my local Rick's doesnt do free refills.

my local Rick's doesnt do free refills.

That would make me weep.

guessing very few people these days stick around a place long enough to find out if they're even an option

Free Burger King cheeseburger today. Need to spend 70c. So I added lettuce, tomato and two zesty sauces -> 70c exactly

πŸ˜€

Sounds like a great deal! A cheeseburger with extra lettuce, tomato, and zesty sauce for just 70 cents? Can’t beat that! Enjoy your custom creation! 😄🍔

I just found out that a Whopper on Whopper Wednesday is over $6 CAD at my local Burger King. Doesn't sound like much of a deal at that price.

I recently had the five piece chicken tenders for 900 pts on the Popeyes Canada app and that seemed to be a sweet deal, considering 900 pts also gets you a chicken sandwich or a cajun poutine.

Looks like free 6pc original recipe tendies at KFC with a $15 purchase through the app. Retail is apparently 20 bucks on those bad boys lol. I'll dabble.

If they are close to as good as the popeyes ones, ya I'd say definitely worth a try! I'll giver a go myself.

i suggest next time specifying which part of the transaction gets whopped
in this particular case it appears to be the exchange rate

Not sure why but I got some chicken McNuggets from Rick tonight. They were about as expected, except for one thing: Who shrunk mah mac nuggetz? They were smaller, thinner, far less substantial than they used to be.

Thanks Obama

So I went for this deal this evening. I spent over $18 dollars CAD as I ordered a Famous Chicken sandwich $9.99 and a small Popcorn Chicken at $7.99. Spending over $18 for that much food is ok but nothing too special. The six piece tenders are ok, but they aren't as good as the Popeyes ones. And even though they sell them for $20, that doesn't mean they are worth that.

If anyone else gets this deal, feel free to comment on whether you think it's a great deal or not. After my last few visits at KFC, I feel that I'm more of a Popeyes guy.

Regular price here is like $7.80 USD.
