Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
Idk he's literally asking for death penalty for people that didn't fix rivers.
Maybe it's just the old man yelling at clouds.
Thank you for agreeing with me.
I support it for people who throw things at runners from cars but not really much else.
But if you're in a car and you throw something at someone working out or exercising boom you're dead. It should be instant.
weez you'd have a much more compelling case if you linked to such posts where he's calling for the execution of other posters
i think luciom is a net positive in the forum and prevents it from becoming a circle jerk of agreement who all pick on bahbah as a gang

Was with you right up to when you brought up picking on bahbah like it was a bad thing.
Make a containment thread, put the dogshit posters there until they learn to behave, exercise some basic judgement about who the dogshit posters are, ez game. OOT figured this out a lifetime ago.

lol I would take a million Luciom posts over a single one of your posts
Trolly's posts are a monoculture in themselves and most are just demanding various degrees of punishment for other posters.
No, D2 has special non-containment privileges because he makes me laugh
it's amazing that trolly is probably the only poster here who can refer to other people here as "dogshit" and not receive a ban and yet posts every day talking about how moderation isn't doing enough
Rickroll, do you think I’m doing enough?

I didn't specifically call anyone here dogshit, but I'm always happy to color within the lines if the mods tell me my colorful language is out of bounds and the rules are fairly applied.
i wouldn't expect you to act any differently from the dozens of mods who allow him to post his hateful attacks every day
even right above he's happily victory lapping his ability to insult people within the confines of what moderation finds acceptable
he contributes nothing here
say what you will about luciom, but he's actually interested in conversation which is what this place is all about
trolly should have received a perma-ban years ago
he literally posts nothing but insults and attacks, never engages in discussion, he's only here for trolling which he even explicitly makes clear with his username
it's insane that people here who have an extensive body of work of over a decade can be perma'd for a dozen outbursts but we allow trolly to remain
Sigh
It's your advanced vocabulary that gives you the edge; no way anyone has a chance when you're throwing out fancy words like "interlocutor" and whatnot.
Did you like it when I hit Deuces with "sesquipedalian"? That was the culmination of weeks of concerted effort.
That's a great word - using it makes you one.
I would have spelled "interlocutor" with a q in there, that's what I get for only listening to the audiobook version of Plato.
In ancient Greece, Socrates was widely lauded for his wisdom. One day his student Plato ran up to him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about Diogenes?"
"Wait a moment," Socrates replied, "Before you tell me, I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."
"Triple filter?" asked Plato.
"That's right," Socrates continued, "Before you talk to me about Diogenes let's take a moment to filter what you're going to say. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"
"No," Plato responded, "Actually I just heard about it."
"All right," said Socrates, "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about Diogenes something good?"
"No, on the contrary..."
"So," Socrates continued, "You want to tell me something about Diogenes that may be bad, even though you're not certain it's true?"
Plato shrugged, a little embarrassed. Socrates continued, "You may still pass the test though, because there is a third filter, the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about Diogenes going to be useful to me?"
"No, not really."
"Well," concluded Socrates, "If what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me or anyone at all?"
Plato was bewildered and ashamed. This is an example of why Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem.
It also explains why Socrates never found out that Diogenes was banging his wife.
True story. It wasn’t useful because socrates was a raging homosexual
i'd say he was more of a transcendentalist homosexual
