General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread

OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of NBC)comedies on tv yet no threads.

Just an observation.

Meh, first episode was average 6/10. I will give it a few more and hope it gets better.

The Penguin is great!

It's like Gotham Sopranos.

2/2 high quality episodes so far.

Watched the first episode of Social Studies on FX. Think Euphoria, except real life, but somehow less interesting. Too many of the kids they're following seem similar, and it feels really dated watching something that was obviously filmed a while ago given how many people are still wearing masks.

Yea, I watched both episodes, in the description I think it says it's post covid, but yet they are all in masks. lol

It was filmed August of 2021.

The most interesting thing was the rich kid that drives a BMW to school and hosts parties with 200-300 people that he charges $10 a head for, but he kicks out $2000 for liability insurance for each party plus rental for the building.

In case you didn't see episode 2, at the end, big cliff hanger for episode 3 that will be a must watch.

Caught the first episode (of 8) of KAOS on Netflix. It takes Greek Mythology and places it in the modern age. Jeff Goldblum plays Zeus and its a nice mix of comedy and drama.

The Old Man has gone off the rails. Not sure I can watch anymore of it.

this sounds like what happened in first season

started amazing and then went poop

i watched the first 1 or 2 of new season is seemed to be good again but based on the above ill probably not bother either.

Really loving From atm. S3 airing now, and the first 2 episodes were very good

Falcones = Fascists

Started watching FROM last night with the girlfriend and binged four episodes. Great show so far.

From is producing a lot of strong scenes. I still don't think the eventual twilight zone ending can tie them together.

Its going to be really interesting to see how they will wrap all of these mysteries up. I heard they are going for 5? seasons.

S3 started very strong and as we get closer to the end it has the potential to be amazing or terrible as they hopefully explain everything.
Gonna be interesting either way. This show definitely benefits from the weekly format though.

Weird episode, but I wouldn't call it off the rails and it certainly didn't make me want to quit.

Bottom line is there's always been some undefined conspiracy from s1e1 onward that's so far remained undefined.

If I'm still confused/conflicted after the final 3 episodes this season, I may just read the book.

Colin Farrell is reprising the role of Tony in HBO’s The Penguin

There are differences.

Penguin reacts better on the fly. He seems to be able to talk his way out of anything. Tony was more emotional so he would let his feeling interfere.

Also show is now 3/3.

Dc kind of kills it sometimes with their TV. Peacemaker, Watchmen, and now The Penguin are all great shows. Lanterns is their next big one and they already have stars as the main roles.

I may have to try Peacemaker and Watchmen now. Very much enjoying The Penguin so far.

I don’t very much like superhero… anything really. But The Penguin and Peacemaker are/were awesome!

Finished Industry season 3.

Fantastic.

Don't know anyone IRL who knows or watches the show other than the ones I've personally told to go watch it, but it's great. Best show not widely talked about.

Season 3 finished very much like a series finale, but have already announced a season 4 is coming.

Agreed but definitely suffers from hbo season 3 law of diminishing boobies

I think I heard that it was renewed long after the final episode was shot, but I could be wrong. Certainly looked like a series finale.

Uzumaki on hbo is ****ing awesome. Highly recommend for anyone into horror. Through 3 episodes one of my favorite new shows this year.

Watched the first two episodes of Rivals. It is tabloid trash drama with classy trimmings. Great fun.

Disclaimer (Apple TV+) is really good so far. Directed by Alfonso Cuaron. The cast is led by Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline, and Leila George (Greta Scacchi’s daughter, actress who plays the younger version of Blanchett’s character) is very attractive and very naked in eps 3 and 4.
