don't understand your cheap shot. as you point out, Mandalay Bay has the lowest percentage of mis-regs and pros on the Strip (is that bad?) and hosts a significant amount of bad players. I have success there every trip.

midsummer Mandalay Bay poker room started going 24 hours. they still doing that or did they go back to closing for a full day and closing late night?
Bravo still lists them as being closed on Tuesdays, otherwise open between 11am-3am.
Will go play a session one day during my (soon) upcoming trip, so I can ask if the information is accurate (if I remember).

question for anyone who knows downtown - i am going to a festival at downtown LV events center in october. thinking about where to stay, and considering golden nugget for proximity vs. el cortez for price / character. trying to decide if the extra walk back and forth will be a pain. have also read that you sometimes run into delays coming into GN on weekends because they check
If your choice is a Carson Tower the most basic of the GN towers and longest walk Iād go El Cortez tower room. If you can get a room in any of the other GN towers Iād go GN.

the Trop might be the longest standing LV strip casino that I have been to the fewest times in my life. Maybe 3 times? and I've lived here since 2000. Tbh I wish I had at least gone there after the closing was announced and gotten a chip as a souvenir. I did do that for the Stardust...not sure why I didn't for the Trop.
Anyways, RIP Trop, sorry we weren't better friends.
Could have sworn one of my Uber drivers last month said they couldn't just implode it because of asbestos.
Maybe they manually stripped it out so they can implode the rest?

got a room at the Tropicana to view it that night . hopefully awesome . saw the trump plaza get demo in AC and it was cool

I'd set an early wake-up call.
that implosion was one of the coolest things I got to witness. it was 7 of us who saw it over 2 rooms and the giddiness and excitement that lasted after that was amazing to feel. 10/10 would recommend .
Bally's and A's having vested interest also helped with the show.

if you are looking to play poker mostly , a hostel is not advisable . I spent 3 summers in my early 20's at sin city hostel (lvb and Charleston) during wsop and I spent 75 % of my time and profits (instead of playing the cash games ) , showing backpacking girls around Vegas ,taking them out to eat ,etc etc. I would never give that time back , but it's hard to concentrate ,when there is a new beauty from outside the US showing up every 3 days .. it's super fun but wasn't conducive for the grind.
now if you want it for the experience.,a hostel would be amazing ,but if you have the roll ,get the room that it's basically just you .. works like a charm.

I remember when they used to have those 65 dollar tournaments where they would give out sandwiches after the first break .
players loved that so much , some snuck in .multiple meals with that.
