POG PUB 2024: A New Year, A New Thread, A New You
It was an honor to spend 2o23 with yall. And I look forward to spending 2o24 here too.
Happy New Year!
Speaking just about the city of Asheville within a few miles of my house, it destroyed one of the most 'interesting' and revenue generating areas of town, pretty much everything right on the river including my personal favorite music venue, countless art studios (in old warehouses along the river), two of our parks (including th largest), about 4 miles of Greenway that was built up over the last four years, flooded the bottom units of one our largest low income housing neighborhoods.
My closest
That sucks, hope you’re alright at least.
Yeah, I'm all good. Got a free month of stay in a hotel, trying to find somebody who needs it. We just got power back at my place. I honestly don't know what to actually do now. Kinda weird.
I'm at Olive Garden for the Never-ending Pasta Bowl! Filthy I have an empty seat next to me in case of your arrival. 😀

omg I'd love that!!!! except I just ate some pizza, I'm too depressed to leave the house, and olive garden is terrible.
but i'd love the company! and let's do outback
how much is the never ending pasta bowl?
my 2 extra large pizzas were $12 each, and they taste like it

Olive garden is terrible???? Um, that's a pretty strong take. You have to admit the breadsticks and salad are good? And pasta is pasta...
The Never-ending Pasta is around $15
Bread sticks aren't very good in my experience. Anywhere.
Smh
BTW, they gave my daughter 5 lbs of fettuccine as her 1st plate. Lol her food was 3xthe size of mine.
i've only been to olive garden once. and it was like 20 years ago or something. the only thing I remember was being pretty surprised at how bad it was. and I LOVE salad! but it was just bad.
I think I did have kinda high expectations though... which... what? why? how? no idea why I had high expectations for olive garden lmao
and i think it was even earlier that I went to outback. seems like 30 years ago. but I doubt they had outback back then. it was whenever it first opened(I think), and I remember having a great time there, and loving it
Olive Garden salad is great! And ayce...
I sometimes buy the Olive Garden dressing at Costco.
Fun fact, Olive Garden gets dunked on more than any other restaurant among food workers in my experience. I'm not going to **** on anyone for taking advantage of cheap food cooked for them tho. You could be starving and gorge yourself for like $20.
Went to the grocery store to get a couple things for pasta yesterday, my partner wanted ranch dressing, and the only one left in the store were Kraft, Olive Garden and the hippy brands. Appalachia has spoken, Olive Garden ranch is not good enough to consume during a crisis 😀
I bought her one of the hippy brands...it's not good
😆

I vaguely remember something similar with water. I think it was arrowhead water? probably when people were hoarding water during COVID. all the water was gone except for Arrowhead. and I didn't understand. I never noticed any difference.

Dasani. Coca-Cola dredges it up from the London sewers and adds potassium somethingorother and not even rats will drink it.
Arrowhead is Nestle afaik. They prolly stole that water directly from the mother stream on some sacred indigenous triblal lands. I'd like to see everyone involved with Nestle have their cells evenly distributed throughout the cosmos.
it's totally insane that nestle is SUCH an evil corporation, and yet probably not even in the top 20 for evil corporations... maybe not even in the top 100 lol
but yeah! distribute those cells!
Nestle easily makes the top 20 most evil corporations.

You had Nestle as more evil than some of those in our draft 5 years ago:
not fair to use my own words against me!!!!
😊 😆
Im probably heading to florida or st louis for work soon and been thinking about taking a couple of days extra to go to a city or a national park or something
Ive done a bunch of googling and choice tbh seems like impossible so much looks good in the easily accessible areas.
Any recommendations? Are there places that are over/underhyped that's easy to get to from either of those locations?
Don't go to St Louis
