crazy how close the polling got, 4 weeks ago trump was a absolute dog especialy after the debate but idk how the gap narrowed so quick.
I wasnteven looking at polls then i kept seeing harris do all these media blitzes randomely and suddenly, from doing very little in august comapred to sept and october it was a huge diference then I decided to look at the polls and polling was way more narrow as I expeced after seeing the media bllitz
i've been traveling through a lot of swing states before entering the midwest recently
support is overwhelmingly to trump - i'll be at a diner and be hearing people casually talking about hoping kamala doesn't win
she got a short term "thank god it's not biden" bump but now that's wearing thin and the trump campaign is absolutely crushing her with political ads that resonate strongly
her prior stance on paying for top and bottom surgery for illegal immigrants and incarcerated felons - no matter how much she walks it back now - is absolutely crushing her amongst moderates
millions of americans with substandard or no healthcare will not vote for a president who will dole out 6 figure cosmetic surgeries when they can't afford their own medical expenses required to keep them alive

Is anyone who feels confident with Harris winning taking the 3/2 odds in the largest betting markets?
I probably care less than almoat anyone here who gets elected, maybe above vic and LB, but ego and confidence are two different things.
There were some wins and some draws. I made a point to sacrifice the exchange in most of the games, with mixed results. Particularly mixed when I hung my other rook. But I think the reason you might not see tilt boy posting for a while is that in the last game I totally ****ed up and hung like all my pieces and he probably had like a mate on 5 or something, and I tricked him into a perpetual and got a draw. That last game is going to keep me laughing all winter.
To end the chess derail, i was actually pissed off when i lost the game on time. I thought i saw something and was interested to see what would of come from that. The last game i just literally lold out loud and gave up.

I went to one polling pace today....computers were taking forever (hmmmm) so I went to another. For the 3rd straight election I walked in as a complete undecided voter. Some super lesbian is behind me in line wearing a shirt that could not have been more pro-Trump. I say "I wonder who you're voting for" and she says "Kamala all the way" - but she pronounced it "Camilla."
When it's her turn they tell her she has to turn her shirt inside out; apparently can't wear stuff like that within 100 feet

I looked back at the polls in swing states for 2016 and 2020 and compared them to the actual results. Trump performed at least a few points better than the polls in pretty much all cases, and in some spots against Hillary way way better.
My theory is this doesn't have anything to do with the polls themselves but with people's reluctance to admit they will vote for Trump. If the same dynamic is at play again, and I see no reason why it wouldn't be, then Kamila is going to lose hard.
Literally in the link he posted.....It's very easy to solve as SS taxes are capped really low.
Why would increase the cap fix SS? those higher contribution will require higher payouts , unless the plan is to tax people for SS over the current cap without matching payouts for those amounts, ie to significantly increase taxes for people currently earning more than the cap (approx 170k).
It's not an "easy" solve unless you think significantly raising taxes for people earning 170-500k is easy.
Is "we want to significantly raise taxes on people earning more than 170k" the actual campaign promise of democrats running for the senate in red or purple areas? really?
