I've heard the "unelected" thing before. Wasn't she on the ballot as Biden's VP? Wasn't she formally nominated by the DNC?

I did not like Harris for pres. in 20-whatever-it-was-at-this-point, but given everything we know beyond reasonable dispute has happened, "what she is not" is such a massive selling point that "why don't you care?" has become a concerning one.

Most people just vote party lines. If history went a bit different and it was Elon musk running as a Democrat vs mitt Romney Republican, Democrats would mostly vote for musk.

That said more people probably changed for Trump than most candidates. But he has to pick up the lost votes from somewhere.

Is illegal immigration really a problem faced by people in PA?

. There is a drop in 2020, 2021, but then it picks back up again in 2022 and in 2023, trending towards pre-pandemic recovery. Inflation, felt by families, has actually diminished over the past two years.

I hear these talking points, but I don't think people are actually experiencing these dangers, which has me begging the question again - why are people in PA responding to imm

About immigration, I don't know. But I'm guessing they see immigrants moving into and taking over the low-end job market.

But I get reminded about the damage that inflation has done every time I go to the grocery store and pay $2.50 for a bottle of soda vs $1-$1.50 4 years ago. Or pay $10 for lunch at McDonalds vs $5 over the same time.

Then there's things like the fox news cycle.

I think in the 2020 election, The T word was much more taboo. People were afraid to talk about supporting him to not get alienated or cancelled.

In 2024, I think this has changed. There are people openly supporting him everywhere. Even in California and you don't get much bluer than here.

Immigration is probably one of the policy things Kamala and Trump will be most similar on

Elon some girl some guy

Here is Tulsi and RFK Jr's speeches at the Madison Square Gardens event. Listening to her here and on Gutfeld, she is someone that the Democrat party should never have lost.

1/3 of the electorate didn't vote in 2020. 2020 had the highest turnout ever iirc

trump has more support in CA than in like 40 other states, just cuz 40 million people live here

It is truly impressive the lengths that people will go to in this election.

In the mail today, I received a postcard mailer, urging me to vote for someone I'd never heard of for President: Randall Terry. At least I'd never heard of him by name. He's a wackadoodle, the founder of Operation Rescue, and as far as I can tell is a single-issue candidate -- he's ldo anti-abortion. That's all the flyer was, vote for him because he's the only 100% pro-life candidate.

If my cursory research is accurate, he's the candidate of the Constitution Party. According to their website, the Constitution Party is the 5th largest party in the USA#1 and is on the ballot in about 14 states.

The mailer, however, wasn't sent by the Constitution Party. Instead, it was sent by "Civic Truth Action", a SuperPAC. I was curious, so I looked them up. Not much info out there, a P.O. box in Washington DC, a barebones website and about $4.5 million to spend.

The truth is out there somewhere, however. The treasurer is a guy named Christopher Koob, who coincidentally serves as treasurer of a number of liberal PACs and has (apparently) been a Democrat operative and worked for the Obama administration.

Depending on whether you believe the Washington Free Beacon, Civic Truth Action may also be funding pro-Libertarian Party materials.

So it looks to me like someone out there decided that maybe they can peel off a few potential Trump voters in a swing state by pushing "pure" votes for fringe candidates and help get Kamala over the line.

Zesty!

They wasted their dollar on me, though, since I'm not voting for Trump and no way in hell would I vote for Randall Terry. I'd *love* to know what the selection criteria were that left me on their mailing list... mostly so I could laugh at them.

yeah, not much pro trump stuff in the city of LA, still a little. but I see lots of pro trump stuff around LA county

I never used to see ANY pro rebuplican **** in SF, Berkeley, or Oakland. San Jose had a little

when I first moved to LA, I was shocked at the pro trump stuff here. that was 2017

I remember when California was a fairly moderate state. How times have changed.

california hasn't been moderate in hundreds of years

it's literally been genocidal. then insanely racist(Chinese railroad workers, Japanese internment camps, etc)

then it built weapons for imperialist military, and started the black panthers

Okay, I was using the average persons definition of moderate. :p

Speaking of delusional how many times have Democrats thought Trump did something that was finally his downfall?

Hundreds?!?!

This comedian guy will definitely be it this time.

Feels like a lot of overlap with fauxmoi subreddit.

Mark, your state

that specifically targeted fast food working conditions and wages, and they expanded it this past year.

and if you look at the PA unemployment rate, they're actually below prepanemic levels

nobody's taking their jobs

Also your time frame is a little dubious:

I don't think you're intentionally being deceptive, but I think maybe your mind is ret-conning a recall pattern to minimize human/ethical dissonance with your inclination to vote for the guy who raised money to cover his fraud judgment by selling monographed bibles.

oh ****... mark has been challenged in the fast food arena

by Booker Wolfbox k

ZOMG it's over for Trump:

Still trying to get my head around Insane Clown and Trump being distinct entities.

:p

So do immigrants do jobs no one else wants to do or not, and is that a good or bad thing?
