The adjustments were made...just not the right direction

If we get any result from this game I'll consider it a godgiven miracle. Glad Newcastle are not too bothered to score more.

I think we could play for another 3 hours and still not score. Dismal

Probably right. We didn't have a shot yet. Not sure if I've seen us play worse these days even with 10 men

Just end it please

and that is a bad miss by Rice

Now that the EPL title chase is over for the season we can focus in the Mickey, FA, CL

lol the special fart. are arsefans going to blame northern refs for this one as well?

Of course. The ref clearly had a bias against us for not sending someone off to mask this horrible performance

going deeper, are we even sure ARS are an end-of-season top 4 squad?

what a dreadful performance they just put on tape

Players these days are SO MUCH BETTER than in Owen's day. Of course they are, they've had 20 years of knowledge and science to learn from. Not saying they're any more naturally talented, but the best teams now would absolutely twat the best teams then.

Such a bs argument.
You could equally say that the best teams then would twat the best teams now if they had that extra 20 years of knowledge and science. Michael Owen would certainly have not have had such trouble with his back and hamstrings.

they won the xG though

Yes. That is literally the point I am making.

And Pete will have NONE of it!

So we are going to Inter on Tuesday and then to Chelsea.

What a great run of fixtures where we can use this form to the fullest

i think its probably true if you go down the ladder a bit, ie third-rate teams of today would smash their equivalent of 20 years ago

While we are at the ye oldies topic back in the day we did see a lot more banger goals right?

Or is it my nostalgia tinted glasses?

Seems to me that these nasty xG-ists calculated how unlikely it is to score from certain positions and now all we get is the odd instinctive half-volley here and there.

It's true. Players are coached not to take long shots (low xG), fisregarding that a chance may be 0.01xG for one player but 0.2 for another.
People blame Pep, but it started before he was here. Wenger's Arsenal were criticised for always taking too many passes and trying to pass the ball into the net.

Arsenal are never serious title contenders and fans are a joke recently

This year battling top4 with villa lol. Manager isn't good enough to compete if one injury destroys everything

Actually its funny how the ESR timing worked out. If Odi gets injured last season he slots in perfectly.

Lego Pep being in love with the multi-position covering players felt safe, but in the middle there is nobody who is quite ready to step up there.

Ethan looked double the player in that role than anyone else since Odi is out. Trossard there just does not work.

Ah now City is pretending to lose the game. Grow up

Who had Toon/Bournemouth/Brighton treble

The quality of football today has been abysmal. Naturally when I have the time to watch our game and the equivalent of redzone for the afternoon games.

Think the introduction of even more international games ought to fix that. Maybe a longer more complex league format for UEFA tournaments.

Who had Toon/Bournemouth/Brighton treble

Degenerates

Also annoying to have the Newcastle early game - Blades early game - within spitting distance of the Tyne treble in terms of watching our win

Looks really bad for Konate that

Who had Toon/Bournemouth/Brighton treble

What would this have paid? Has to be approaching 200-1?

Soooo the title race back on

Well that was a quick bounceback without playing a game. Eh Pool ruined it.

Score the 3rd you mugggg
