Like 1% of the I/P thread is anything other than fighting or joking or derails or whatever. What else could it be? The 12 people interested in posting in an I/P thread have said their piece a dozen times. UP has an I/P thread where people almost never fight because it's not a diverse group and it's heavily modded, and it has zero posts for the last 8 days.
There's no world where there's a busy, informative, respectful thread on I/P on 2p2. It's literally impossible. So either people can make those posts, doing nothing but entertain themselves, which is all that could ever happen here, or it can be closed.
OR you guys could self govern a bit and limit your in-fighting to a set number of derail posts
Like honestly, what selfish babies you are to think everyone should have to read through your little personal retorts in order to glean anything from the threads. Imagine if all of them were like that. Just go to twitter then and be emotional little shits.
There are other people besides YOU who maybe come here for something beyond personal attacks and nonsense. Maybe other people use the threads. Maybe other people want to debate. For someone so progressive, you seem to forget frequently that other people exist.

Nobody comes for anything different. It's evident in almost every single post in this forum. The only thing happening besides some jokes and some insults (direct or indirect) is talking about moderation.
If anyone wants news, imagine coming to a bulletin board for it. That'd be ridiculous.
The difference between here and Twitter is that people know each other. It's not randoms joking, teasing, insulting other randoms or talking to famous people who don't read your posts. And just because people say a swear word or call someone a dumbo doesn't mean they are emotional. This is just a game - for everyone here. No one is doing serious business.
