These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". 2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

I don't think that most in Iran, including near the very top, want to retaliate.
Unfortunately I think this is true of last time too, and dictators get the last say.
Iran's leadership sincerely believes it is their holy mission to destroy Israel and drive the US out of the Middle East. Because their motivations are supernatural, the fact these goals are not rational and dont lead toward positive outcomes unfortunately is not sufficient reason to change course.
If the Dems are preparing to bomb Iran as you suggest, shouldn’t you consider supporting Trump instead?
The Dems have spent the last 16 years appeasing the IRI, with very poor results. The appeasement of the IRI is the main reason there is so much fighting in the ME right now. Trump is the one who stood up to the IRI in his last presidency and promises to do so again if re-elected; and IF he gets elected and can bring peace to the region it will be exactly because through force or diplomacy he gets Iran and its proxies to back down.

The areas on the border with the least destruction have the least Hezbollah infrastructure that is being used to attack Israel. Including the completely white part in the middle that is controlled by Christians and Hezbollah has zero influence. Zero Hezbollah, zero attacks at Israel from this region, zero damage in response.
Whatever your opinion of what is going on in Gaza, all indications are Israel's stated goal of eliminating Hezbollah from the border and generally weakening it so their citizens can return home safely is exactly the goal of the current mission in Lebanon.

Go and cheer on your mates as they behead more Palestinian babies and shoot more young kids several times in the head.

Hm to be honest it looks quite clear to me that Israel wants to build a buffer no-go zone inside Lebanon so that Hez or anyone else cannot rebuild infrastructure to easily attack in the future.

1. the 8 Hiroshima argument - the damage of a nuclear bomb is not defined by the explosive weight metric. first, most damaged is caused by radiation, which Israel did not creat in Gaza. so that is the first misrepresentation. Moreover, dropping one big bomb creates a big shock wave radius that is not caused by many small bombs. more people died in Hiroshima from the shock wave than the actual explosion. so enough with the false equivalency.

This type of nonsense talk needs to go. The IDF isn't beheading babies or shooting kids. You obviously have a personal connection to Gaza but that doesn't mean you should slander Israel.
Telling people that are getting slaughtered on an industrial scale to chill the F out is an interesting take.
They weren't getting slaughtered on an "industrial scale" prior to Oct 7th. If only they had chilled out before then tens of thousands would still be alive and their cities wouldn't have been wrecked.
