The Yishuv helped the British put down the Arab revolt in 1938 and had considerable training and experience. In contrast the Arab armies were from brand new nations, often still deeply influenced by the British.

A lot of Jews are descendants of Holocaust survivors. The ones who survived had kids, and the ones who didn’t, didn’t. From the media coverage, you’d think Jews make up 80% of the Free Palestine movement.
Ironically a lot of the Jews that are not descendants of holocaust survivors were the ones living in Israel at the time. Almost like there’s a lesson to be learned there.

Ill give my own family anecdote. My great grandfather from my mother's side had 5 siblings in Poland, all married, all with kids.
He was the only one from the family who made Aliyah (in 1904), as he did not had kids yet and was able to up root himself. he had two kids in Israel (my grandfather and his sister).
in 1939, we had a family of almost 150 close relatives.
In 1945 the family was downsized to 4.
Some good news from Israel.
We are on the verge of a serious coalition crisis.
Our supreme court ruled a few months ago that the state cannot subsidized the ultra-Orthodox "jewish people", that do not serve in the army and were not exempted by law.
The two ultra-Orthodox parties demanded to enact a law that will allow the subsidy.
First, one or two coalition members voiced their objection to enacting such a law, but as of today, as more coalition members joined them, the coalition doesn't have the majority needed.
in return, the ultra-Orthodox parties are giving a final ultimatum to Bibi and threating to dissolve the coalition and send us to an election.

maybe. certainly it seems that when Jewish people protest they often get a lot of attention and "signal boosting."
but that wasnt really my point with posting that. it was just to show how bad the crackdown's on speech and demonstration in the UK is.
