Then Trump came out a couple of days later and said he was joking about disinfecting the lungs, yet Trumpers still tried to say he meant these medical procedures even after he already threw in the towel.

Working class men, no matter what race, who are dissatisfied, are going to be attracted to a more masculine vision of leadership. There is a deep reason for this.

Here is my post-mortem:
It wasn't any one thing. As usual, it was a bunch of things.
1) The Democratic brand clearly isn't resonating well enough with people on the economic margins. I don't know whether the people on the margins who have drifted away from the Democrats have any confidence that Trump will address their concerns. I suspect most do not, but at a minimum, their lack of confidence in Democrats on this issue made them more open to voting for Trump for other reasons.
2) I/P was a
no there's a penalty for forcing in a nominee who got 1 percent of the primary vote in 2020 and polled dismally as vice president.
They also forced Hillary in but at least she was pretty close to Bernie and not complete road kill like Harris.
Harris got absolutely smoked and it has nothing to do with being a woman.
Biden was the only one of the 3 nominees Trump faced who legitimately won it.
He also had incredible timing to be running when everything was in the shitter bc of covid.
It's a lot easier to beat someone when everything is in the shitter whether it's their fault or not.
If Republicans keep the house then ACA is dead. That means Americans who were sick over the economy and voted Republican are about lose insurance coverage, since that sickness was a pre-existing condition.
