2024 ELECTION THREAD
The next presidential race will be here soon! Please see current Bovada odds. Thoughts?
Well its probably not a coincidence that these cabinet members noted that he praised Adolf Hitler in private settings and that a big part of todays posts are about Trump using Hitlers rhetoric nearly verbatim.
You need to get better news sources. All that Hitler stuff has been debunked. It's a pack of lies from some disgruntled former staff suffering from TDS.
No you have gone from the opposition to the ruling party. You now will have to defend policy instead of hypothetical policy.
When have the Democrats ever been ultra dominant? What are you actually talking about?
I am saying in this forum, right here.
Up until a few days ago this place had very few rightwing people defending rightwing policies and preferences.
With these elections the USA went from a divided government to a straight rightwing government and yes, from January, all eyes on what they do and they have the onus to prove they can pass their preferences into action and so on.
I’m not convinced it was a negative as much as it just wasn’t enough to carry them. Probably no one turned off by that was voting for Harris anyway.

The problem is that the people we need to be reaching tend to think we're nuts and stop listening.

Yep. That's what happens when you lie a lot. People eventually stop listening.
I mean the Hitler stuff is just a pack of lies which has been debunked multiple times yet you guys just keep repeating it as if it's true.
same
i've seen friends do things like find a new landscaper because they noticed their old one had a trump bumper sticker or declare they'll never get another oil change at that shop again because they had a trump sign out front
or even worse, talk about cutting out certain people from their lives because they are trump supporters
i try to explain to them that their replacement landscaper or mechanic will probably also be a trump supporter and we have a lot of good mutual friends in common who i kn
I've thought of getting a MAGA hat and going to the mall or something to see what kind of effect it has on interactions.

This goes back to my original post from today;
Is that more indicative of a failure in Democrat messaging or indication of an incredibly successful propaganda and misinformation brainwashing campaign?
If I say "Here is a list of reasons why we think Trump is dangerous to the country" and the responses is "LOL, TLDR LIBTARD CUCK" then I guess I'm torn. Seems like a failure of society more than a messaging issue.

They will come on, gloat, and then sneak back to whatever troll hole they came from when Trump inevitably starts doing crazy crap or (hopefully) nothing at all and then gets smoked in the midterms.
Here’s hoping. 🤞

How was it debunked?
Is this "Trump is a liar" stuff just libtard cucky propaganda?

Probably the only way to get our country back is to go after voters that are between the couch and the dems rather than trying to convince the right that they are wrong. And naturally as people get personally affected (directly or indirectly) by right-wing policies hope that will make them change their mind.
The solution is education which is why the right wing tries to undermine that at every opportunity.
What do you think blood, in bloodbath, when used to refer to an economic catastrophe that is alleged to happen, means? actual physical blood?
Btw i have been told he actually didn't even say the exact phrase verbatim...
It looks like the phrase was "they are poisoning the blood of the country", and the "they" is the people who let illegals in (democrats), which changes the meaning in non subtle ways.
What do you think of this one?

It's both a failure of scoiety and a messaging issue.
This is part of a feedback loop building over decades. It's not simply one causing the other. We're stuck in a destructive cycle of increasing polarisation.

What if rightwing policies actually end up being decent for the majority of people? That's the problem for coalitions that focus on minorities.
You need the minorities you decide to represent to agree with you (and minority women do, while Latino men don't) and enough people willing to sacrifice their own class/group interest because they feel it's morally good to help minorities.
The Obama coalition wasn't predicated on that. He was a black president that didn't despise whites, heterosexuals, men.
Try to propose policies that improve the quality of life of a majority of the people and stop talking about tiny groups and see what happens.
Here you go.

You’re talking to the wrong guy about this, I already said what I think needs to be done to reform the party many times. And Kamala absolutely didn’t make any of the pleas you are talking about so you must be talking about a different campaign.
That’s the problem here is we are just stuck talking past each other because the issues you are pointing to as problems are minuscule compared to what’s happening on the right, but while we have to own it they can just be brazen and proud of their authoritarian, anti-American tendencies. It’s disgusting. I’m not going to denounce the problems of the left to you people because you guys never admit to your own problems. And this type of imbalance in self-awareness is destroying our country.
Oh, he said she said twitter nonsense. Got it.
