Favorite Stand Up Comics
I couldn't find another thread about just stand up comedy, if it should be moved, so be it.
Just wanted to see who everyo
Saw this dude on David Cross' podcast a couple of weeks ago and he was great. This special is even better!
there were some parts i liked but ultimately kept on pausing it to focus on other stuff only to remember to go back and eventually just quit listening because it wasn't pulling my attention in
Admonian is hilarious but that latest special not the best introduction nor his best. Find the one that was in a small club in Richmond, he spends some of the set hilariously interacting with the curtain.
His impression of Marc Maron talking to Louis CK on that podcast episode is what got me on board. Freaking brilliant!!
I don't know...
Ryan Long's Problem Solved is one of the best of the year
Excited to watch this later as I think his podcast with Trevor Wallace is very funny.
Forgot to mention Conner O'Malley's Stand Up Solutions when it came out a few months ago. Definitely not for everyone but worth a chance!
He got popular as a sketch performer, here's a great example to test the waters.

I think this is the one you're talking about
Overall, I don't think it was better than the more recent one that was posted. But the impression of Lewis Black reading from a 14 year old girl's diary (@ 36:15) was great.
Bob Saget, Rosanne and Patrice. Good stuff.
Sandra Bernhard was also there... Thanks for posting what a cool snippet, I wish Patrice lived a bit longer, RIP
Man, Patrice was an a hole. And not very funny on top of that.
There's just so much anger and self hate there.
I hear so many comedians talk about how funny he was but I don't see it.

Elephant in the Room is one of my favorite specials, so disagree

I won't lie, I think there's some truth to your comments on the anger and self-hate thing. Obviously, I don't know, but the guy definitely had his battles, it seems like he gave into some of them rather than trying to move forward. He had some great insights but also some pretty awful views. That said, he was hilarious, and there's something endearing about someone so willing to put it all out there.
Got another one of those spam emails from Louis CK and he was raving about Adrienne Iapalucci’s new special. And he’s right! It’s really freaking good! I remember her a bit at the MSG show and she was decent enough. She’s great in this one.
Brooks Wheelan Alive In Alaska special
I can't get enough of Tim Dillion...

Never heard of her and just watched a few bits. Good stuff.

Those spam emails are always hilarious, he really laid it on thick for her
I enjoyed the new Amazon Prime Jeff Dunham holiday special.
I also watched on Prime, Nick Swardson's 2023 (?) comedy special and it was ****ing hilarious. I've always enjoyed him in Adam Sandler movies and his acting in Reno 911.
Some damn good specials out recently.
Anthony Jeselnick’s was great. He hadn’t put out anything on quite awhile so it was nice to see that he still has it!
James Acaster’s was great as well. From the beginning, the audio was so off putting that I was considering not continuing, then something happened that thrilled the retired sound guy in me.
Jim Gaffigan’s newest was really good as well. And I think it might be his 2nd one this year.

Patrice was hilarious. There's so much gold of his on YouTube. He was just naturally funny. A lot of comedians can make a halfway decent special if you give them six months or a year ,a couple of writers etc but they really aren't that funny or quick witted. Patrice in random interviews or radio appearances is funnier than most comedians at their best.
Can't disagree on the self hating part though unfortunately.
