General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread
OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of NBC)comedies on tv yet no threads.
Just an observation.
Can I beat a dead horse and complain about sound mixes of so many tv shows. If you don't want to be constantly adjusting the volume between dialogue and action scenes it's almost like subs are mandatory regardless of the language.
Never knew if this was a personal problem with my setups over the years or if it's truly just a mixing problem.
wathed 3 episodes of The day of the Jackyll (sky tv show i think)
its decent so far, i rememer the original film seen it a few times (the film is better) but this series seems promising 5 episodes out so far i think of a possible 10
That's one thing I miss about not having trad cable anymore, I like being able to hit the skip back button and it would then put subtitles up for the replayed portion. That was also a terrible thing with The Bureau, lol, I had English subtitles on but when they were speaking English with those awful accents I couldn't understand half of what they were saying, but it was English so no subtitles. ****ers.
what pisses me off about yellowstone was they wrote in a vietnamese character, give her a name that like 60% of all vietnamese people have, and then she mispronounces it whenever she introduces herself
that's when i quit the show, that entire subplot was terrible and i was on the edge but that was the straw that broke the camels back

Glad you said that because I've been starting to think my hearing is going.
Maybe some kind of dynamic compression option is needed.
I agree with the complaints about the sound mixes, although it seems to be a ton better now that I have a fancy pants sound system.
The Pinguin finale was amazing, best show of the year for me. Enjoyed it even more than Shogun.
Lioness S2 is damn good. Probably Sheridan’s best show.
I’m digging the lioness too.
I dropped all of his shows last year except for Tulsa King, which I eventually dropped as well. The first batch was after 1923’s shitty finale, and the latest was after the Jelly Roll cameo.
I have debated Lioness for awhile but mostly due to being out of new shows to binge. How “Taylor Sheridan’d” is it? I’m over his schtick but I might be willing to make an exception lol

Volume Normalization FTW. Maybe not for audio purists but I rarely watch anything without.

It's pretty good. Easy binge and not the male soap opera that Yellowstone is. Sheridan has some bit acting parts in it though.
Really enjoyed season 2 of The Diplomat. It's fun and doesn't take itself too seriously.
After 3 episodes, Day Of the Jackal is just ok. Too many confusing plot points and silly domestic stuff. I don't care if the Jackal's family finds out what his job is.
Late to the party, and only two episodes in, but I'm really liking The Outsider. Knowing that it was one and done though makes me think it will eventually unravel.
I've been watching Blacklist with the gf and its so incredibly corny but somehow delightfully entertaining
They really abuse the schtick nearly every episode and my understanding is that goes on for 7-8 seasons lol

You strapped in for 218 Episodes, lol? My Mom keeps telling me I need to watch this. I doubt I ever will. Maybe though.

I've got 1 or 2 episodes left in season 2. I doubt we will make it through the whole series.
At 22 episodes a seasons and 40 minutes an episode there is a lot of content here
Love the tactical stuff and the action but I wish they cut down on the family stuff, that's boring and the older daughter is so ****ing annoying.
3 episodes in and I completely agree. Since you've seen more than I have, is there any reason not to skip anything involving that daughter? The rest of the family stuff is fine but holy hell that older daughter's stuff is stupid. The little speech about "I didn't ask to be born" is one of the stupider things Sheridan has written.
Silo is back!!!
Awesome! Although I can't watch things weekly, so have to wait until mid Jan :(
