Trump 2nd term prediction thread

Trump 2nd term prediction thread

So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.

Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.

A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.

What's there to question? Obama sent Iran back the money we confiscated from them. It was their own money. It was part of the nuclear treaty we signed with them.

So let me do the math. Get Iran to agree to stop developing nuclear weapons in exchange for giving them back their own money.

Yeah, sounds like a lousy deal to me.

Why would you believe Iran will follow through their side of the deal?

Ok, understandable. I'll admit it as soon as you provide evidence that I lied.

Your typing fingers moved.

Anyone who thinks in 2020 Biden legitimately got 15M more votes than Obama did in 2012 is just asinine. But too bad Dems would’ve been way better off letting Trump win and finishing now rather than entering WH again. MAGA FTW!!

Yep. The MAGA apocalypse is about to go live. Hold on to your seats.

Retribution is coming.

No cheating though. Right?

this tweet to any sane person shows the opposite of cheating.

Some people have to have something to be terrified about. It defines their existence.

Somehow posted completely without irony. Tell me again what the Haitians were doing in Springfield?

Right. So blocking windows so that observers can't see in is the opposite of cheating.

Interesting thesis.

WSJ: Musk-a-Lago: Inside Elon Musk’s Role on Trump’s Transition Team

The two men have been inseparable over the past week at Mar-a-Lago, where the Tesla CEO has become such a fixture that Trump has given him his own “walk-on song” for the DJ to play when he enters the dining room: David Bowie’s “Space Oddity.”

Musk has become the “most influential” member of the president-elect’s orbit, according to two people close to the transition. The world’s richest man has been sitting in on meetings and interviews with candidates for cabinet positions, joining Trump’s calls with foreign leaders like Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, and recruiting friends and allies for key positions in the government.

Musk personally spent $200 million to elect Trump, according to people familiar with the matter, an extraordinary amount for an individual and more than the billionaire had publicly indicated. After The Wall Street Journal reported in July that Musk privately told people he would donate around $45 million a month to his pro-Trump super PAC, Musk said he was donating at a “much lower level.”

Remember when conservatives said Biden sold government influence for money, even though they have no proof other than his crackhead son friend dropping his dad's name while trying to grift some money from wealthy donors? Or some Chinese bank account statements that prove nothing but money sitting in a bank account?

Seems like just yesterday.

I'm sure they're all now accusing Trump of the same thing with Musk.

Yeah, not so much.

I really hope people some day will realize that 200 million USD is a redicolously low amount, like pocket change, for even a smallish influence on state power in the USA.

How can "less than one month of interest on my net worth" be considered "a lot" by anyone? "Extraordinary" technically yes because everyone else was so stupid not to invest more in something that can make you rich era in the tens of billions (of you are already worth 100 billions+).

Lol at 200m for mush anyway. He actually lost (for now) more than 10 billions of equity in Twitter, which he lost to win these elections, and he already made it back just with Tesla stock surging.

That's the real amount spent to help Trump win.

Conservative said many time democrats sold influence for money.

But buying it as a bet before is completely legal (citizen united) unlike selling it after the fact.

There's a reason why the wealthy donate so much money to candidates - it has the highest risk-free ROI on any investment available in the world. Those relatively small donations earn returns sometimes in thousands of percent when you factor the influence it allows on just tax policies let alone.

I ask you this: think you are a billionaire democrat donor, and could have donated 4 billions do win (alone or with friends).

How dumb can you be to only have donated 50-100-200m and leave all the goodies to Musk? How much better than all the democrats has Musk been at realizing even investing 10-20 billions as a loss on twitter is well worth it?

When someone outplays a majority of the most successful people in the history of the country at the most important games of all, how can you fail to realize how genius he was?

Bloomberg is what, 120 years old by now? He couldn't donate 10 billion and win? What about the many other very democrat billionaires around?

They don't donate MUCH, they donate joke amounts. Donations for presidential year elections should be 100 bln+ per party easily at this point.

Even if you believe a president has limited powers, how can people fail to realize he can be worth 5% of a 2T company easily?

Like Google founders could have donated 20 billions just to get the antitrust lawsuit dropped against them without asking literally anything else. 1% of the company is recouped with 3 tweets, if not more.

Why aren't close Senate races funded 200-300m minimum each? Control of the Senate is worths hundreds of billions.

Get your popcorn ready for the next 4 years

In normal times, obvious quid pro quos would be illegal and that would restrain the scenario you described. But I agree that time has past so these guys should be writing blank checks.

True Republican justice !
When a Democrat does it (Epstein) it’s bad .
When a Republican does it (gaetz) it’s all good .

There's not enough popcorn in the world to handle the dumpster-fire we'll all be watching the next four years. What a way for a country like ours to go down. It's straight out of the movie Idiocracy.

So you mean when bill gates bought his way out of antitrust bigger problems by helping bush those weren't normal times?

I don’t think the AG position was the main point of his post …..
It’s what crimes are being irrelevant for republicans .
And you just prove it right there….

I think people like you are pretty sure it will be a disaster because in some sense if it is NOT a disaster (doesn't even have to be good, just meh) you would have to reevaluate a lot of assumptions about how the world works.

Starting from the fact that what you guys define as "fascism" isn't necessarily so bad at all for citizens.

BJ: Trump is so good at trolling the libs and doing stuff to piss them off, I love it when he does that!

Also BJ: Libs have TDS, a mental condition which makes them irrationally criticise Trump for everything he does.
