2024 ELECTION THREAD
The next presidential race will be here soon! Please see current Bovada odds. Thoughts?
She is bad because she did worse than almost all other democrats in the same election.
I would have preferred Harris to win and the republican senate to refuse to let her govern blocking every single action of her administration, including not letting her nominate any secretary, ambassador, judge and so on.
That would have been perfect for me, complete paralysis of government
Bad and one of the worst in history is very different .
But I guess if u lose a hand in poker by a coin flip it means you are a very bad player too shrug

One of the worst, which presidential candidates do you have in mind that underperformed their party candidates in 90% + of Congressional races?
I love it. Republicans: Kamala Harris lost because she was a terrible candidate! So bad!
Also Republicans: I hope he repeals Obamacare but leaves the Affordable Care Act alone!

That’s just a talking point .
In popular vote it’s extremely close and that is where the majority of people stand .
U won’t bring much credibility to me by using territorial races ….

Democrats should have easily won the popular vote by 3-4 though, that's the baseline.
Good economy, inflation fixed, stock market at all time high, low unemployment, incumbency, that's a win normally, you need to suicide yourself to risk losing

I agree .
Did you hear all those “brillant voters” ?
they all claim the economy was bad shrug .

Popular vote doesn’t mean chit. Campaigns don’t try to maximize popular vote, if they did Trump would’ve had rallies up and down Commiefornia.
The election is of and by 50 independent states, not 300 million individual voters. Electoral College negates any one state’s margin of victory. In other words, whether Commiefornia votes 51% Dem, or 99% Dem, they still contribute the same amount of electoral votes to the total, based on their congressional representation size.

Making great progress in learning stuff that most 12 year olds know there, slugger. Next stop: "pronouns - what are they and how do they work?"

Just by you saying California is close to be communism just told me all I need to know about your reality .
U clearly don’t understand what i mean and it’s fine .
I agree .

Yet some of them voted Democratic candidates down ballot, except they didn't vote Harris.
Because Harris was particularly, especially hated/disgusting/considered bad/disliked/untrustworthy, more than almost all other democrats, for voters.
IE one of the worst candidates in American history.

Again , a coin flip to me isn’t worst than someone losing by a much bigger margin but it’s ok if you disagree with math shrug .
And again, good economy do not seem to be important or people are too stupid to know what it is .
Clear irrationally there but hey , trump won so no irrationally involve….
What we call this ?
Result oriented.
Not many people should be angry if harris was that bad and the majority wasn’t so close ….
If they angry it’s because they probably believe nonsense by electing trump.
Why else be angry if not ?
I am angry because republican having a trifecta is risky, and the world would have been better off with a divided government with a democrat president and a republican senate (which was almost guaranteed)

I wasn’t the one waxing on about popular vote, which Trump won anyways.
Just by you taking a joke of Commiefornia and saying “close to communism” is all I need to know about the libtard Trump deranged lol.
How about d2 & Montreal join each other in a TDS crying circle, shall I bring Legos, cookies & milk?

Oh look, another "responds to everything with 'TDS'" guy, how cute and original. To be expected I guess, if you people were capable of independent thought, you wouldn't need to join a cult.
Oh really? What hyperbolic nonsense? That MAGA is a movement composed entirely of morons? Meh, hyperbolic - maybe, nonsense - not so much. Appreciate your coming along to provide evidence to support the hypothesis though, very kind.

It's an interesting question to consider whether Republicans would fare better if they focused on the popular vote-- because obviously Democrats would also focus on the popular vote and also be campaigning in California and also Florida etc.
Just as an aside, my libertarian Trump ambivalent sometimes supporting coworker thinks some of Trump’s picks are laughably bad. I think he’s getting a bit too greedy with some of the choices.
Just my anecdotal experience.

TDS is real, but it doesn't look like you suffer from it. I mean, this is a political forum, and he's a big story. Being overly critical doesn't qualify. The problem is when someone feels the need to insert him into every conversation. I have a friend who will steer any political discussion in his direction. For example, he's unable to have a conversation about the 2020 riots without invoking January 6th. If I criticize Biden, it's a matter of seconds before he says, "But what about Trump? He's worse!" You can't get anywhere with that. What's funny is that we largely agree about Trump, but he still feels the need to make his case at every turn.

Thx proving my point .
Ps: u know why I don’t have tds syndrome ?
Because anyone like him being a president , I would have the same reaction .
I couldn’t care less about trump before he was president and wouldn’t care once his gone …..
I guess I just think presidency deserve better then a individual like that .
But I hope you have tds syndrome but unlike you , I couldn’t support a sexual abuser , fraudster , etc to be my representative , but seem trump is all good .
And maga is proud of it !
But if u don’t have tds , means all those that have been accused of those things is all good for you .
That’s great .
the Trump transition team’s delay in signing ethics safeguards,
which are aimed at heading off conflicts of interest,
is “what illegal corruption looks like.”
