Trump 2nd term prediction thread
So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.
Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.
A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.
I think you do see why and how coming from senate politics prepares you better for high level international politics, than being the CEO of Exxon does. Yes the CEO of Exxon spends significant time courting favors in other countries, but with a specific, measurable, and limited in scope reward he needs to achive.
Broad-based political achievement, and multifactorial thinking that encompass the destiny of various relationships between various countries or block of countries is different than trying

Great choice. My spouse is in the health care field. We did very well financially during COVID with all the care anti-vaxxers needed before they eventually died. RFK at HHS is a perfect way to allow natural selection to play out. Smart people will still get their polio and measles vaccines, etc.. Idiots won't. Trump won. He should get to have his people. I want in on the grift of these people. Confirm RFK!!!

he can though do great damage to health in general by for example blocking grants to research mRNA vaccines for other stuff, and that is something pro science people will suffer from as well (as commercial base research on those topics as you might know is hardly a good investment at the early stages, a rare case of a good use of public money is to fund basic research in key topics)
