Trump 2nd term prediction thread
So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.
Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.
A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.
or they knew they were screwed regardless (wrt Israel-gaza) with both parties going allin pro Israel anyway, and they voted to pay less taxes and deregulate their small businesses (and send illegals who actually compete with the uneducated portion of American Muslims for jobs away), and they want to get heard anyway in the off chance they get some extra stuff sent their way
no they just wanted to punish the Dems bc they actually did the plausible genocide.
I dont know who these guys are that are whining and its surely just clickbait bullshit to make liberals feel good.
I suppose they could have been playing 4d chess. Or they could just be morons. I guess we'll never know.
it's not 4d chess. it's knowing a specific issue you care about finds both parties against you, so you gote for other reasons.
like someone who actually wants to defund the militaries... both parties are in favor of increasing military expenses.
he will vote whatever party for other reasons.
then if the party that wins increases military expenses, as expected, that's not leopards eating faces.
I've been trying to think of how to reach Trump supporters and get them to understand what's currently going on in American politics and throughout the world for some time. Because putting aside the culture war BS, the core economic troubles of the working class should theoretically reach across party lines. It's a key reason we've had such a spike in populism.
I'd assume most Americans are exhausted of this division. I mean, why would you want to be in conflict with your neighbor, your family me

Good post .

to be clear
republicans controlled the house and thus the purse-strings. they could have voted to end funding at any time or not voted for funding.
any actions that were done by biden w/r/t arms were directly sanctioned by republicans. don’t know why you pretend otherwise. and Trump criticized biden for not going far enough.
"unfair" is a morally loaded term. you can think it's fair, other can think it's unfair, waste of time to argue about that.
but the guy above claimed democrats had to give up on norms to try to win at any cost.
my claim is they did (and j listed the norm breaking behaviors I remember, there were certainly others) and failed anyway.
you can claim trying trump in 4 different cases was correct legally, morally, whatever.
still norm breaking.
you can claim giving a lot of space to unproven allegations o
So you claiming trump actions are normal and acceptable right ?
Trump is a kind of politician that just been represented many times prior ?
Please, like the bs deep state, give us names of trump similarities.

right I guess I didnt realize that the party that "controls the purse-strings" actually sets foreign policy. silly me.

in the Senate 15 republicans opposed it and 3 democrats. but this vote included Ukraine aid as well
while in the house I think it was the opposite like 35 democrats and 22 republicans voting against. and the vote was for Israel only
it's true that without the speaker of the house (republican) support, aid wouldn't have passed.
Trump didn't though and was always allin pro Israel (and criticized Biden when he tried to threaten to delay the aid)
Wanting to genocide a whole group of people because of their ethnicity is Nazi adjacent, doesn't matter what that ethnicity is.
that's not what Nazism is and I don't see why you can't use genocidal instead of nazist.
and templar pilled people don't want to genocide all Muslims just the jihadist (=warriors, fighting) ones.
why warp the meaning of a word completely behind recognition like that? especially when under your definition victor can claim some Israeli are Nazi-adjacent? a Jew definitionally can't be Nazi or Nazi adjacent if you use the words in a proper way

Pretty sure the far left do call Israel nazis actually. Not that that means anything, of course. I would use "fascist" but that word is the subject of so much debate already these days. Fine, not Nazi adjacent. White nationalist. Potato, potahto.

In the senate we technically needed no republican support and probably the people that voted against did it strategically. Maybe Bernie would have needed to be replaced by one Rep.

not white nationalist either lol. a templar pilled would see Egyptian Copts are millenarian allies (they are brown for reference).
And fascist requires a different domestic worldview as well (starting with not loving democracy very much).
yes the radical left calling Israel Nazi should make you try to use the word appropriately, not the same way they use them, to mean "everyone I dislike".
you don't have a model of the world to describe someone who is pro democracy, not racially oriented, but wants to kill what he perceives as enemies of what he cares about in large numbers.
you might try "american"

Congratulations, it didn't take you long at all to get to the explanation of why the tattoo everyone says is a Neo Nazi tattoo is actually a good thing.
I think the VA will be shut down nationwide by the end of next year, and veterans will no longer be able to rely on government handouts to get them through life. They'll have to get in the back of the line with the rest of us for private insurance. Many of them will lose their homes, which is good because they probably didn't deserve them in the first place. It's insane to me that these people get free handouts for life, all for slapping each other's asses with towels in the barracks for a fe
I'm not confident that the VA will be shut down this year.
A lot of vets that fought in Vietnam ended up fighting against war mongers and the draft in particular - they were kids at the time.
Getting excited to see how a group that large deals with adversity as a result is a pretty glaring mental illness on your part, tbh.

The list of veteran perks is probably less impressive than you think it is, and the level of care at VA isn't what it should be either. FYI most of the meaningful post-separation entitlements go to military retirees or those that had a service-related injury. Which is fine by me, I didn't spend decades of my life in the job and came home with all my limbs.
It is disappointing that 2/3rds of veterans vote they way they do especially if they fall into the former categories, but if anyone's earned the right to vote foolishly it's probably them.
