Netflix "Watch Instantly"
I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.
I'm amazed that that's Farrell. He completely disappears in that role, even behind the makeup. If I had had 50 guess, I never would've guess that it was him.
Watched the first episode of The Day of the Jackal, it's really good. 5 episode drop then weekly.
There are so many shows out now and coming out and I am way behind, too many procedurals I watch. lol
Same with having too many… I download most of what I watch since I watch most things on my studio computer and it’s not online. I had to start selecting episodes that take up the most space just to clear them. And now there’s 2 full seasons of new shows, Say Nothing and Cross, that are waiting for me to have the room before I transfer them. I think there’s more coming soon lol
Late to the party, but Scavenger’s Reign on Max is pure art. It’s been a long time since I experienced something so uniquely original.
Landman is good.
Anyone have recommendations for good movies to "watch instantly" on Netflix?
I'll start with a few:
A Clockwork Orange
The Ghost and the Darkness
Following
Deliverance
2001 A Space Odyssey
The Taxi Driver
Boondock Saints
The Office seasons 1-4
Philadelphia
Ghostbusters
National Lampoon's Vacation (The original, Vegas, Christmas...)
of course they rotate in and out -
But anyone have recommendations for movies available now???
RRR. It's a bit too long but totally worth it for me!
For sure, I even still like Yellowstone, even though a lot of people don't like it anymore. All Beth scenes are annoying AF though.
I mean Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, Sons of Anarchy are all good.
I haven't got to Lioness season 2 yet, but season 1 was decent.
i had to stop watching yellowstone when the son took the advice of the vietnamese journalist who didn't know how to pronounce her own surname to move against his father, it was just too stupid a plotline to justify existence
i'll really miss this lady though

You can watch her in the recent Netflix Psychological horror, thriller movie "Don't Move" starring her and Finn Wittrock from AHS. It's pretty decent.

I feel the same about Beth. Only 4 episodes to go, I'm not quitting now. Still waiting for season 2 of 1923 also.
1883 was the only one I watched the entirety of, and that was just 1 season but I genuinely enjoyed the whole thing. I thought 1923 was going to be the same, but I dropped it after the penultimate once I read that it would be continuing. I was already getting annoyed by it. I'm surprised at how long I stuck around for Yellowstone. I did finish season 5 Part 1, but didn't bother with the premiere of Part 2. In between that and now, I dropped all of the others. Tulsa King lost me early on in season 2 but I hung around until the Jelly Roll cameo and had to drop it. Mayor of Kingstown I probably could have stuck around and been fine. Same with Lioness. First was legit good throughout. The main story is probably the best thing Taylor has done. But something is off about season 2. I even considered Bas, but I'm just Taylor'd the **** out at this point lol I could have justified not bothering with Landsman but Jon Hamm and a few others demand I give it a shot.
you could always just shut your brain and enjoy the cinematography and beth's boobs.
How is it to watch yellowstone as someone from (conservative) rural US? It can hardly be intentional, but it really seems like a parody of the maga crowd, complete with a filthy rich, criminal boss and his sycophant minions who wage war on the elites from the city to preserve their way of life (servitude)

I watched maybe the first 2 episodes years ago or whenever. I can't remember why I didn't watch more. I recently saw a promo where Beth says "The only thing left to do is to kill as much as you can before they kill you" and thought yeah, I'll pass. Like WTF does that even mean?
Landman is pretty legit so far. That’s mostly because of Billy. He should’ve been the lead in most of Sheridan’s shows. Can’t wait until him and Hamm share the screen!
It’s as dumb as any other Sheridan show, even dumber in parts, but goddammit Billy Bob can rock an angry monologue better than most!
