I am anti Putin and anti Assad as much as someone can possibly be, but you have to give your enemies the benefit of thinking they are rational when they have been for decades.

There was absolutely no logical, strategical, tactical reason for Assad to use chemical weapons banned by international treaties to achieve what? what was easily achievable with conventional weapons?

And keep in mind that in my model of geopolitics we (=the west) didn't need him using chemical weapons to justify any aggressi

I got a good laugh at this. Ty.

So was Putin rational when he said Ukraine would fall in 3 days, and capture kyiv in 2 weeks?

Many, many, many, many, many, many world leaders throughout history have done incredibly dumb things because of their own hubris.

when did Putin say that? do you have a link?

Putin actually thought we wouldn't have taken a stand as strongly as we did and he had good reasons to think that because we let him take Crimea with almost no repercussions before.

And btw he hasn't lost yet.

Moreover, there is no analogy with Assad using weapons that are expected to trigger an incredible international response to achieve something he didn't need those weapons for (that was the key part of the logical assessment).

If Assad has used gas to achieve something he could not have achieved otherwise, or if that was the claim, it would have been credible.

But he used gas for what, to kill syrians which rebelled to him, which is something he easily did and was easily doing with conventional weaponry?

Well, you're the expert on geopolitics, so your probably right.

Silly me.

Accusing Tulsi Gabbard of being a Russian agent is the dopiest thing I've heard since Trump was accused of being a Russian agent.

It amazes me that people still swallow this nonsense.

I did link to a lot of papers showing how the expected damage of climate change is null or very small for cold countries.

That's when the climate pron apocalypse lovers start talking deranged things usually.

Like you are in Canada and it requires some special kind of lack of intelligence to believe Canadians are worse off if Canada gets warmer.

Did you know even if human might actually like a warmer climate it doesn’t translate necessarily to animals , plants and insects because they have far less adaptability capacities ?
And in the long run it’s a negative results for human as a whole ?

Are you that dumb for not comprehending the message the scientific community are telling you ?

Exactly I live here for over 50 years , so yeah seem I know a bit more about you on what’s going here …..
But hey again , shouldn’t be hard to find any link that says climate changes as a whole isn’t problematic for the future, being a consensus ….

Nature speaks to us but I guess not listening is the way to go .
It worked so well in the past .

Clinton fit so much in the profile of a rapist doesn’t he …

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or serious. But I don't think you can generally tell by someone's public personality. Bill Cosby was America's dad. Clergymen rape. A twitchy homeless guy might be a gentle soul.

Clinton has other episodes of sexual misconduct, so if that's part of the profile, sure.

Maybe men with an intense appetite for wealth and power do more sex crimes, but IDK.

President Trump is no longer a "convicted felon".

If there's no sentencing, there's no conviction, according to legal laws regulations and policies. Finir!

There is no law about who can be accurately described as a "convicted felon." In ordinary usage, if you were found guilty of a felony and were awaiting sentencing, most people would call you a convicted felon. And if you signed a sworn statement iin the interim in which you said you had never been convicted of a felony, I suspect that would be actionable misstatement.

He’s still is and always will be absolute dogshit.

You were serious.

OK. Clinton, a noted sex pest, enters a room alone with a woman. After he leaves, her friend finds her beaten, crying and in shock. She says she was raped. Other people see her injuries and hear the story. However, she doesn't go public for years.

Tell me a story where he isn't guilty.

I understand that Dems say "who cares" when their people do it and Reps say "who cares" when thier people do it. That was the original point.

If it's just a congressman, sure they might be expelled. But if it was somehow Pence vs Clinton for prez, dems would vote Clinton just as Reps vote Trump. We care much more about out policies being implemented than about the character of the person doing it.

Some will at first say things like "lol allegations" or "he doesn't fit the profile" and then, if the evidence is strong enough, finally say they don't care.

Well, my best friends think I'm pretty stupid.

I wish I could take valid side bets on this though, because the truth always tends to come out in the end. I'll mark this thread though.

But just to confirm my stupidity w/ you, I do also still think Trump is a Russian asset. And even if you don't think he is, he's functioning as if Putin was in charge. Step 1, divide Americans. Step 2, undermine democracy, Step 3, appoint incompetent people to head intuitions so you can tear them down. Step 4, let fascism reign supreme.

Trump is likely going to invoke Article 2, section 3 of the constitution and do what no other president before him has done and recess congress to appoint all of his minions. It's all over right-wing media. They are telegraphing what they are going to do.

Are we in a constitutional crisis at that point when it happens? I'm betting you say no.

And you don't have to believe me that Trump and Putin are tight. Just listen to Don jr talk about how most of their assets are from Russian oligarchs:

During a New York real estate conference in 2008, President Donald Trump's eldest son admitted that a lot of the family's assets come from Russia.

"And in terms of high-end product influx into the US, Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets," Donald Trump, Jr. said while speaking at a New York real estate conference in 2008. "Say in Dubai, and certainly with our project in SoHo, and anywhere in New York. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia."

Please, PLEASE show us this "legal law regulation and policy."

I wonder what Trumpy and Pootie were talking about after he was out of office on those at least 7 calls he had w/ him. Probably the weather? Maybe a new hotel in Moscow? I'm sure it was something innocent, and Trump just forgot to disclose this info even though he's legally bound to.

What I am saying... We all know Woodward is a liar and doesn't document or source his material very well.

I wonder why Trump ignored Obama and staff about Flynn being compromised by the Kremlin. I mean, Trump is brand new to politics, and is stepping into the biggest position of power in the world, and he wouldn't listen to a guy that had just done the job for 8 years successfully? Meh... probably nothing to it.

by d2_e4 k

Sure.

Then Trump appoints a guy know to have deep ties w/ Russia as a head of his campaign in Manafort. Even my dog knew this guy was dirty... but I guess Trump overlooked this fact. Odd.

Because he’s a know-it-all jackass.

He personifies Bertrand Russell’s lament that, “The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.”

Why are you assuming he overlooked it?

All the undisclosed meetings w/ Russian officials during the transition (but not other countries), by Kushner, Sessions and Trump. Probably just forgot.

Stupid media trying to paint a false narrative.

Sarcasm.
