Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic failed, and it became a general discussion thread with almost no moderation related posts at all. And those that were posted were so buried in non-mod posts that it became a huge time drain on the mods to sort through them. Then, when off topic posts were deleted posters complained about that.
This led to the closing of the mod discussion thread, replaced by the post report/pm approach. This has filtered out lots of noise, but has resulted at times in the General Discussion Thread turning into a quasi-mod thread. This is not desirable, but going back to the old mod thread is also not a workable option.
Therefore, I have created this new moderation thread, but with a different purpose and ground rules than previous mod threads. The purpose of this thread is to provide a place for posters to pose questions to the mods about how policies are applied; to bring to the mods attention posts they think are inappropriate and reach the level of requiring mod action; and for mods to communicate to posters things like changes or clarifications to policies, bannings, etc.
Now let me tell you what this thread is NOT a place for. It is not for nonmoderation related posts, even if the discussion originates from a comment in in a mod related post. It is not for posters to post their opinions about other posters or whether a poster should be banned. It is not to rehash past grievances about mod decisions from months or years ago. The focus of this thread will be recent posts that require action now. Or questions about current policies and enforcement.
So basically, this is a thread to ask mods questions. Which means, pretty much that only mods should be answering those questions. If a poster asks why a particular post was deleted or allowed, only a mod can answer that. Everyone else who wants to jump in with their opinion or their mod war story needs to stay out of it. It just increases the noise to signal ratio and does nothing to answer the question.
Everyone needs to understand that this thread has very different rules than the old mod thread and any other thread. Any non-moderation post will be deleted on sight. Not moved to the appropriate thread, just deleted. So don't waste your time crafting a masterpiece post about wars or transgender issues or the presidential election and then post it in this thread. It will be gone. Also, this isnt a thread for general commentary about our mods performance. Posting "browser sucks as a mod" or any such posts that don't actually ask about a policy or request a mod action will be deleted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the moderation of this forum. But this thread isnt for complaining about mods. You are free to go to the ATF forum and make your concerns about modding in this forum there.
So with that intro, this thread is open for those who need to bring questions about mod policies or bring inappropriate posts to the mods attention. Again, it is NOT a thread for group discussions about other posters or for other posters to answer questions directed to mods.
We'll see how this goes. If you have what you feel is an open issue raised in the General Discussion Thread, please copy that post or otherwise reintroduce the issue here.

I didn't report I've been self banned for a week and was just catching up
I think it would be more fair to me to report the posts first before complaining in this thread that I haven’t done anything about them. This next part isn’t directed solely at you, mets. Too often someone comes in here with very big feelings having skipped the step of first asking me if I’m aware of the issue and then what I plan to do about them. Instead we just skip to the part where we’re indignant and assuming I’m not doing my job. Same thing for a lot of angry PMs I receive from posters.
Let’s try to change that. I think it would help us all get along better.

I don’t really have an issue with spicy stories in the low content threads. They just should not involve non-consensual degradation of any kind, or I will ban for that. Otherwise, I seriously doubt you can shock me.
Obviously we don’t really want threads to become personal blogs, but if you guys want to have some fun interlude I don’t have a problem with it.
So we can share random stories here? Here's a fun one: After my now ex-girlfriend finished school, she got a job as a psychiatric nurse at a hospital in another city. I didn't have a stable job, so we made the move together. I also used to smoke a lot of weed but only brought enough to last a few weeks. Since I didn't know anyone in the new city and was going to run out, I had to figure something out. The girl from the Verizon store said she'd get back to me but never did. Anyway, one afternoon, when my girlfriend was going to work, I asked her to drop me off at a bar in the area that was having a poker tournament and pick me up after her shift.
Shortly after the tournament began, this guy came into the bar and started walking around all the tables, striking up conversations, and commenting on every hand. He was obviously speeding, so I thought, "I'll just ask this guy." On the first break, he was outside smoking, and I discreetly asked him if he knew where I could get weed. "Sure, I can weed!" he roared, so everyone could hear. "Follow me!" I decided to blind out, and we took a walk to a trailer park a few blocks away where we met his friend Casper. Casper had a shaved head, camo cargo shorts, two-inch thick glasses and a lisp. He may or may not have been wearing a Slipknot t-shirt. Casper told us that he was out of weed but was waiting on a guy to drop some more off, so we went into the trailer and hung out for a while. He told me I seemed a bit suspicious and thought I could be a cop because I didn't have sideburns. Once we were past that, we got to talking, and I told them I just moved to the city because my girlfriend got a job at a local hospital. When they asked what she did, I told them she was a psychiatric nurse. "Was it [girlfriend's name]?" one of them asked. "Uh, yeah. You know her?" Then they told me how they were both patients of hers a few weeks earlier. Small world. When she picked me up, I told her I bought weed from Casper and Speedy. At first, she was confused. Then she was upset.

I have seen a ton of pro-Israel people saying it is on social media and in regular media. in fact, Jonathan Greenblatt of the ADL compared it to a swastika right here on MSNBC of all places https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNIqsoNo....
and while I would not compare it that, I do agree that it is antisemitic.

It is almost no men. It's just makes a lot more noise than the vast majority not saying it.
if us men have a fault in this regard it's that we share much closer to nothing.

Sexual anecdotes can be pretty funny imo because sex is ultimately a funny business.

This morning my husband woke up early with our toddler so I could sleep in. When I eventually woke up, he brought me hot coffee and a cookie in bed. Then he stuck a hundred dollar bill in my purse on my nightstand to do whatever I want with because he had a nice winning session last night.
After the kiddo goes to bed tonight, I will absolutely be tearing him up. Hopefully his body can withstand it.

i was skeptical to the logistics as well but years later the girl confirmed they indeed did that
