I think it has more to do with widespread high speed internet access. Plenty of places to see titties outside of a movie theater.

yes but titties you come across in the wild are better than those you find at the zoo

Near Dark- "Finger licking good!"

Kinda meh on the others mentioned.

One horror flick that stood out at the midnight movies was "Pieces".

Solid B movie with a Ronald Reagan knockoff.

Near Dark is awesome, one of the best vampire films ever, and the word isn't used once in the film. Loved it as a kid and nothing's changed. One of Bigelow's best, especially for a debut.

Pieces is hilarious and never fails to put a big grin on my face, whenever I've had a crappy day, one of my favourite bad films ever, actually. BASTAAARD!! 😆

The bad chop suey scene always cracks me up as well. If there was ever an Oscar award for Most Random Scene Ever, this would probably win it.

i really miss all the random titties of the 80s

Yeah, you'd even get occasional bush. Then you'd pause the scene, only that crappy VHS white snowy tracking line would go across all the good bits and you'd start cursing loudly. And now that we have the technology to pause nudity perfectly, there's no effin nudity worth pausing. That's gen Z for you :(
Anyway I'm off now to pause Basic Instinct...in Blu Ray. 😀

The lack of pointless titties is pure “things that shouldn’t piss you off” material.

Anora was literally released this year, but I guess those titties are too plot centric for the homies.

Hey, Titties in the 80s were plot centric too, like in 80s actioners, when the good guy would be fighting a bad guy and they'd both crash through a door into a room where a couple were randomly having sex. It was clearly integral to the plot that you see the chick's titties, considering they were randomly having sex. Or maybe they'd crash through a door where a chick was randomly having a shower- again she's having a shower so titties are plot centric. Those are my justifications and I'm sticking to 'em, like a bra on a titty.

Okay Boober.

Nudity in anglo-saxon movies has always been cringe and felt contrived af, be it 80s or not...

my wife will get mad...

Plot-centric titties itt. But doesn't that ruin it? When we watch a car chase, we don't ask if it's plot-centric, it's the car chase -- the reason we went to the movies.

Of course, they were leveled out by the pre- and post-coitus scenes where the woman was still wearing her bra. Has any woman ever stripped naked for sex but left her bra on? Certainly none who had sex with me, or with the other titty lovers in this thread.

I was at the movies one time... some random R rated film... and in walks 5 young teen males (maybe 12-13 years old) after the movie had started and they proceed to sit down two rows in front of us.

After 15-20 minutes, there came a nude breast scene and immediately one of the young teens yelled out "THAT'S WHAT WE PAID FOR!'. After a few more minutes they all ran out.

Carry-On, Some Dude, 2024

Yet another completely disposable, lazily scripted Netflix "thriller." Watching this is the equivalent of snacking on Rolls Gold pretzel logs and cucumber slices. Fine if you're peckish and don't have anything else, but it won't fill you up.

I’m probably forgetting one but overall I’ve been quite disappointed in every NF original I’ve seen

Your forgetting about Rebel Moon...

saw the beekeeper with some friends, it was hilariously awful it was so good

just chalk full of bee meta

like the fbi agent is briefing superiors on what is happening and she's like "he's protecting the hive" and everyone is like "oh yeah that tracks"

there's also an insanely high innocent bystander/good people just doing their jobs body count

we discovered the beekeeper 2 is going to be made and we can't wait

Haha, Beekeeper definitely lands in the so bad it's good category. You do have to turn your brain allllll the way off tho.

I remember reading a review that basically said it was clear that the writer learned an interesting bee fact and decided to make an entire movie around it. That sounds accurate.

Wait wat!?! Netflix is the place that redefined boxing/combat sports by bringing us the implacable Tyson vs Paul fight 😉

Watched Duelle last night, another strange film by Jaques Rivette. It's about some sort of confrontation between a sun goddess and a moon goddess searching for some magic stone. Begins as some sort of detective/fairy tale film with a woman searching for Lord Max Christi. At one point, two women order a drink called Lacryma Christi, Tears of Christ, a kind of wine. Also features a dime-a dance setting and an aquarium.

Takes some time before you can figure out what is happening in the film if you can.

For another film by Rivette, see Celine and Julie Go Boating.

David Lynch has nothing on Rivette. His films, needless to say, are not for everyone. I loved it.

if you had a drinking game where you drink for every sick bee reference it'd be fun

if you included taking a drink for every time some little kid at little league practice just got orphaned because his dad who is a good guy chose the wrong profession then you'll need hospitalization

The Substance blew me away. Really appreciate the naked (figuratively and literally speaking) performance by Demi Moore. Getting older is something I can relate to, mid 40s here, but I cannot possibly understand what it's like being an aging woman in this world, compounded by being a woman in Hollywood. Margaret Qualley is aces and while incredibly attractive, I found myself squirming when they kept throwing the camera all over her body. yes very attractive but very in your face and very deliberate. Some of the best body horror I've seen in years and was deeply moved.

Flow an animated movie about a cat and a group of random animals navigating a post apocalyptic world? Sign me up! Absolutely stunning visuals, breathtaking set pieces and I couldn't help but root for every animal in this movie. Although I'm a cat and dog dad, the damn yappy dogs annoyed the hell out of me! This one rocked me to my core.

The Prestige Been on a Nolan kick lately. Before Tenet I would have told you this is my favorite Nolan film. Now I'm not so sure! It's aged very well, everyone in it is terrific AND this one has David Bowie! What's not to love?? Which Jackman worked with Nolan again. Andy Serkis too!

Strange Darling is a super badass flick! Easy to call it a QT clone/wannabe with it's fractured storytelling, each act is told out of order. I absolutely love the cat and mouse aspect of this one and the two leads have crazy good chemistry together. One of my favorites of the year.

That's a good start...
