General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread
OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of NBC)comedies on tv yet no threads.
Just an observation.
I haven't read any of them. Have you? They sound really interesting and like something I'd want to read, having read all the originals several times over, but the reviews seem to be unanimous in saying they aren't great.
I read a few of them. House Harkonnen, House Atreidres, House Corino, The Machine Crusade...probably forgetting a couple.
Not the same quality as the Originals, but decent. They provide a good deal of historical context to the original.
The more the woke critics hate Landman the more I love it. Can't wait for the next episode.
haha what a load of ****
Need all the year end lists to shake the stench of Yellowstone off me, lol
Got pretty sick and binged watched Mr. Inbetween over the last few days
Seen it pop up here and there but holy **** what an amazing show. Australian black comedy-crime drama, about a hitman and father, 3 pretty short seasons (30min episodes) with a great ending. It never gets to explosive, more of a 'slice of life' kind of thing. If it does get violent, its gets really violent though. Great character study, and really emotional at times. Also great role for Dewey Crowe from Justified.
If you like Barry, Breaking Bad, Sopranos... Watch it.

If you like
It's a fantastic show. The episode where the girl went missing was the best of the series.
Dune: Prophecy lost some steam in the penultimate outing
Most recent Landman episode is so good.
I’m enjoying The Agency. Say Nothing is on deck. So much good stuff out right now.
Say Nothing was fantastic! Probably Top 3 for me. Once the reputable lists start coming out, I’ll be able to remember what else I liked this year lol
Say Nothing was awesome. Great performances by the actors that played Dolours and Brendan.
Just finished Mr Inbetween. Youtube Shorts hardly ever misses with getting me interested in a show. Sometimes it pushes shows I've already seen and enjoyed but that's not her fault.
I watched The Bureau 2 times and I find the Agency pretty mid. I'm not sure if it is because it pales in comparison to the original or it, in fact, is mid.
I think The Agency is a bit more on the nose and hits you over the head in certain spots where the Bureau was a bit more subtle
But I think Bureau was probably my favorite show of the last 10-ish years. Just an incredibly high standard
Man I find the Sheridan universe such laughably awful television I can't imagine sitting through any of these shows. I tried with Yellowstone, Lioness and 1883 or whatever it was called.
Black Doves on Netflix is a fun Christmas adjacent spy show. Brits really do it right with 6 episode seasons.
Particularly liked Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley) as the head of the organization
Dark is a great nickname
The Day of the Jackal on Peacock is great. Eddie redmayne plays an assassin with an MI6 officer on his tail.
The Lioness
I really liked season 1 as you could follow the mission and goal.
I did not like season 2 as much. The mission goal seemed to change every episode half way through the season.
I liked both seasons of Lioness but preferred season 2. I liked that it kept changing which was mostly due to errors or stuff not playing out as expected.
