[Unibet] Official Thread

This is the new official thread that we'll use to replace the unofficial one.

I've been posting in there as Sciolist, so please direct any PMs to me here instead.

For those of you who haven't been following that thread, let me explain what we're doing. Good players are getting better every year so the skill gap with new players is always increasing. This means new players go broke faster. Sites that don't react to that will decline, as Unibet have been doing for several years.

We decided to take a gamble and make our own standalone site. We launched on March 3rd with a PC desktop version and have since brought out a mac client, an iOS client and a browser client.

Our philosophy is to make the game a level playing field. We do not allow HUDs, trackers or any scripts. We do not allow table selection, but we do allow players to change their identity up to three times per day.

However, we don't want to scare away regulars. We don't segregate player pools or hide tables from anyone. We pay out as much in our loyalty scheme as we ever did on MGS, but now the top and bottom ends are more generous, at the expense of the middle.

We have much lower rake at NL4, NL10, PLO4 and PLO10. We think this makes players move up in stakes faster, which we think is of benefit to everyone.

Talking of loyalty, we have an innovative scheme called Challenges which assigns you a task like "be dealt aces 50 times" then gives you points for completing it. There are minor Challenges (all are preflop) that take approximately 1,000 hands and there are major Challenges (postflop) that take approximately 10,000 hands. Each Challenges season lasts one quarter, so the next will start on July 1st.

Yesterday three good things happened:

1. We launched the Danish client and we will soon be shutting down fully on MicroGaming.
2. We had our best ever cash game rake day which is very unusual during the summer, particularly during the world cup.
3. We won two eGR awards, one in poker innovation, and one in poker marketing innovation. Unibet also won Innovation of the Year.

That makes it a good time to start an official thread too. I'd like to avoid too many support queries - we have a whole department for that. But I'm happy to hear about bugs, feedback, requests, and basically anything else you like.

How

Make your browser bigger!

I've never seen it in stacked mode before so i tried and made the browser window small and at some point it switched to stacked.
Now i know what u see but i do not understand why you didn't try to enlarge the window or make it fullscreen (F11)

If u have the browser fullscreen and still only see in stacked mode i think your screenbresolution is too small. This should work on 1080p screen. I haven't tried on lower resolution.

So it looks like its done, from 17 of dec no more poker for me on unibet/boabet. They are done with my market.

Yup. Not sure which is more tilting, the decision to ban poker from most non-European countries, or the way it was presented to us without an explanation in the email... 😡:(😡 Either way, I am sad to have to leave this way THE SITE I believed the most in during my 15 year span in the poker world :(

from dec 17 this site will be the smallest pond with the biggest whales if this was not the case even before 😆

I might contemplate moving across the said pond to France... If just it wasn't such a longggg af swim... 😉

Unibet was a weird site to play, when player pools were small there were just massive amount of recs on every table and super soft.

Then suddenly player pool is 70+ and there is one rec at the table playing tight. I would check tables and some times it was easiest tables on the internet and sometimes...

well sometimes I was suspecting it was bot rings or collusion or something fishy was going on.

Like super aggro preflop play and I mean at least GTO levels of 4b and 5b jams etc. Maybe some hole cards sharing.

From what country are u from? And why are u saying the players pool will be weaker?

jjjmmm - how bad can a reg be?

Hi

It says that I'm blocked from Poker now since today. Very sad news especially because the loyalty rewards system is quarterly. I cleared 206k points out of 210k points (98%!) for the next step which is a cash reward of 500 Euros.
Very frustrating since I played so many hours to clear it and I had time till December 31. I understand that there are laws and decisions have to be taken, but I don't understand why such things are not communicated earlier or changed by the end of the quarter. Is there anybody in here that can help?
It doesnt't even let me login to unibet community forum anymore, also blocked. Or if somebody has an email address of Stubbe or some Unibet rep so I can contact them.

thanks for any kind of ideas or help

HI!

uni DC: https://discord.gg/DuA78z3x

highly doubt they can do anything in your case (or any boabet BS)

This company spends a fortune advertising on TV and Premier league grounds and I would see this as an opportunity for them to do some advertising with a very real impact so I would hope they do the honourable thing here and pay the player. 98% and the rug gets pulled from under my feet like that, I would be livid.

Hope it gets sorted for you and let us know if they do offer some assistance. GL.

I forwarded your message onto Discord, where Stubbe will see it directly and I feel for you bro, the way that Boabet handled everything, was an absolute disgrace :(

I'm not going to answer your question but please buy in for 100bbs please and thank you <3

Just a reminder that we only offer support/help through unibetcommunity.com and the regular support channels (email, phone, chat).

Even if I wanted to, I can't help with queries related to a different company. I obviously get the confusion, with the migration, but it's ultimately like asking for help with your GG or Pokerstars account - I don't have any access to any other sites backoffices. I would encourage you to contact the BoaBet customer support, for further goodwill in addition to your bonus points, tickets and bonuses having been converted to cash.

FDJ Group - which Unibet is part of - only operates on regulated markets, or markets with a clear path towards a local license.

I will not engage further on here. As mentioned in previous posts: remember, you can always contact the Unibet poker team directly on unibetcommunity.com

Hey guys

thanks for your support! and thanks Stubbe for taking your time to answer here. And no I can not login to unibetcommunity.com to write a message, it's blocked. the discord would have helped, but I guess now I won't need it anymore.

Of course I contacted Boabet support right away yesterday, but not really expecting a helpful answer there. Not sure if somebody there even understands how the loyalty system works for poker.
And now when I checked if there is an answer, today I can not even login anymore to my account. Not sure if it's only me or everyone. Luckily at least I cashed out all my money yesterday!

I'm not blaming unibet for closing markets as it's their decision or forced by the law. But I blame them to not plan it properly and just make an announcement randomly without time to prepare. And obviously the worst was this "migration" or selling a part of their playerpool to boabet which seems to be a scam (hope that I'm wrong). After all all it is what it is, a gambling site. So no surprise. I guess I just got blended by the good support we always had for for poker in all those years. Was playing hersince 2011. The best times were when Andrew was around, after that it constantly went slowly down. But I still enjoyed playing and obviously the games are pretty soft here at least if you play at the right hours of the day.

I didn't want to write so much but after playing almost daily on this site for over ten years it's normal to get attached to it.

Sad end after all but I guess most ends are sad otherwise it wouldn't be the end 😀

So time to forget and move on instead of wasting more time and energy with this boabet.

Take care guys and I really hope everyone can at least cash out the the money from the account!

Needless to say I'd have done it differently, if it was possible 😀

I've always been very transparent on the community and unibetpoker.com about upcoming changes, generally giving at least one quarter notice when it for instance comes to loyalty changes with the quarterly carry-over. I don't think a single site comes close to us, when talking transparency and keeping customers informed (see unibetpoker.com).
The migration was obviously different. You can check the FDJ press release to get an idea:

. I/we couldn't really plan it better.

In terms of going down, we've been constantly growing up until this year (2023 was ATH, even better than COVID 2020), where market closures have been quite extreme - we've had lots of other closures in previous years as well (Germany as an example was huge), but this was something different. Now it's a bit like we've hit a reset button, back to those good days you're speaking of, in terms of numbers 😀

They dont care man ... Ive won a live flexi package worth 2250 euro , but had no time to attend on any of the events , asked support about it and they told me I can use it anytime. Now boabet comes in the game , and I think thats it ... They dont even answer ...

ok I understand. Anyway it was no offence against you, I never had a doubt that you would have done it differently. As I already wrote Unibet poker support was the best and most personal I experienced over all those years, and I have seen a lot in this industry. so keep of the good work!

And for the other thing, I know the situation and market has changed, again, this was not against your work. I mean I started playing poker in 2007. Back then playing on party poker and full tilt poker.. those times were a dream.. so much easier, not only for players but also for poker sites.

Anyway I will keep Unibet in good memories. I knew this day would come. Actually surprising how long it took, since it's not legal to offer any type of gambling or betting in my country for a foreign company after they changed the law in 2019.

So take care and good bye 😀

Yes this boabet support is a nightmare. finally I got an answer after two days. The email from boabet support said.. in my case I should contact boabet support to solve the problem, and gave me the same email address he wrote from. they don't even know who they are themselves??? almost funny if it wasn't so bad

Aston thank you for your messages but I need advice and you are the only person I can seem to contact. I can not sign into boabet, it does not recognizes my name or email, the same one I have been using for years, and so after what four days I still have no idea what is happening. In your opinion is it ever coming back so I can play poker or at least get my money back? or am I screwed and out of luck. and 2nd question where can I play a similiar set up, no talk, no huds etc?

again thank you for any help you give me

Kevan

Hi Kevan

Are you trying to login on boabet.com? https://play.boabet.com/en
the login on the Unibet website is not working anymore I guess.

On boabet.com my old unibet login works. So at least you should be able to cashout your money there. I don't know if you still can play poker, probably depends on what country you are from. But for now it looks like they don't offer poker anymore at all.. it's written coming soon though.

I started to play on Coinpoker, I believe there are no HUD's but I'm not sure. The traffic is pretty bad for the games I play so I will also look for another option or at least a second site to mix it.
