General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread

OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of NBC)comedies on tv yet no threads.

Just an observation.

Show was great, agreed, but the ending was a little underwhelming

Bummer. I’m only on ep 6

The Day of the Jackel

The ending left it open in case it got renewed.

Season 2 coming -> xxxxxxxxx

WTF there are spoiler tags for a reason

Don’t worry … it was all still very good, but I’m comparing it to the rest of the show which was fantastic imo … and there it fell off a little

Honest question (not trying to be sarcastic):
Would my last post considered to be a spoiler?
(Trying to avoid that)

My hot takes on Taylor Sheridan shows:

Yellowstone - never seen it (yeah I know, I've been living under a rock)

Landman - awesome, Billy Bob perfect in the role

Tulsa King - made it through about five episodes and decided it was too cartoonish for me, for lack of a better word

Will check out Lioness next based on the (mostly) positive reviews here

Landman is just bound to turn into a ditch at some point but until then it’s his best show by a mile. Although I also liked 1883 and will watch Lioness and Mayor of Kingstown for as long as they keep making them. I’ll probably get around to the last season of Yellowstone at some point but it is bottom of the barrel download for a long plane ride when you can’t think of anything else content.

No, I don't think so. You were just giving your opinion. Spoiler would have to include telling some specific things that happened.

Ok, cool

Landman probably has some of the best single moments in all of TS’s shows. Pretty much all of them are BBT’s rants. I don’t know what the significance of episode 5 was supposed to be, but it was 1:05 as opposed to the usual 45 minutes and every extra second was wasted on some of TS’s worst stuff. If that’s any indication, and following the usual patterns, the rest of the season will be fine and end on something crazy and season 2 will mostly dogshit.

Taylor Sheridan is a hack who writes rich bumpkins as a fill in for his rich hollywood friends and poor bumpkins eat it up

There should just be a Sheridan thread

Some shows watched recently

Man on the Inside - Really enjoyed this. If you liked The Good Place, you'll like this.

In the Shadows - Final season. Still enjoyable, but had run it's course. Still plenty of lol moments

Based on a True Story - Both seasons. Good fun. A little bit different. Good mix of drama and comedy. Interesting what they will do for season 3 (if it goes ahead).

Life In Pieces - Currently completing a rewatch. Underrated show at the time. Lots of laughs.

Slow horses - Solid season. Great acting. On par with the other seasons.

Bad Monkeys - Really enjoyed this. Vince V doing Vince V things.

I find he's got amazing single episodes in him and then it's just a lot of Americana around it. Mayor of Kingstown S1 was epic. I haven't gotten to S2 yet. But there was no filler in that show.

I really liked Hell over High Water, Sicario, a good chunk of S1 of Tulsa King, most of 1883, etc

I think he catches most of his flack for Yellowstone

What's the pull of the show Say Nothing? I read the subject matter and it doesn't seem appealing? Northern Ireland terrorists?

Very well made/directed/produced and tells a story that is both historical and dramatic. Acting is phenomenal as well. But I do find the subject matter pretty fascinating

I don't exactly know how to get my head around this

Top 5 of the year for me, maybe even top 3.

They should have put a couple Batman characters in it

I thought the same thing but finally gave it a try a couple of days ago. Finished it in 2 days. It's really good. Give it a shot.

I have no idea what is going on in Silo or who any of these people are. They’ve destroyed the source material.

Yea, I watch it every week but I really don't care about it.

I never read the books but I liked S1 even if I thought it was a bit dragged out. This season is pretty bad

confirm. no idea whats happening and why they are trying to make changes from the books that are just way worse.

Feels like the writer room is full of these girls in the "hr dance" meme.
