From living in the NWT I am pretty sure that Brown Bear/Grizzly/Kodiak are just one species. The other two in Canada and US are Black and Polar, obv. There are Cinnamon Bears but they are reddish black bears.

Only other bear I know is a Panda bear..

I think 7 or 8 is more likely than 10 or more

EDIT: They say that if you are attacked by a Grizzly you should play dead and if attacked by a black bear fight back. And if attacked by a Polar Bear then you are already dead.

Isnt red panda a racoon not a bear? It has a long tail unlike the rest of bears.

I don't know what a Red Panda is classified as but it's definitely not a bear.
