Higher of Lower: Random Edition

My first gut instinct is lower.

This is just game theory and nobody has any other validation for their reasoning. If the number was 5800 instead of 2800 you guys would all be going for higher for the same reasons.

This is the game theory (or metawhatever if you prefer) that I'm talking about. People who all believe it's lower but want to guess higher because surely this is a trick question or something.

it's just that we know the over under line is gonna be close to whatever the real number is, and sometimes the line is waaaaaay closer than we could ever guess

like if I had to come up with a number on my own of how many billionaires... I might guess 200, or I might guess 2 million. lol idk

I get what you are saying but I think there might be a "type" of question that would have the "average person" want to set a higher number. That would be about numbers that might be seen as bad, sad, disgusting, etc. Things like number of billionaires, number of people who are starving, number of Russians who died in WW2, number of people in USA living below the poverty line.....etc.

Would filthy (for example) tend to set these kinds of questions as low just for the effect? To help hammer home how disgusting the first number is? I think he might be prone to that kind of "in game" activism. I don't think D1 would. In fact, he might try and use "that is a really ugly number so it might even be worse" type of group thing against us?

I say we just guess something and move on. The number of times I have "out-thought" D1 is less than zero....lol

I'm happy going higher, got no clue myself, it'll be between the 2,775 - 2,825 range
