The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet...i'd be shocked if they lost the election now.

Just shows just how incompetent Conservatives are.

Great article on How the Trudeau disaster is coming to an end

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/mi...

This article is a perfect iconification of how the right works these days, no surprise given the author or linker. In that LONG list of supposed failures - a list that could have been written by lozen - notice what was NOT present: actual policy. It isn’t a nightmare because of $10 a day daycare, or dental care, or free contraceptives, or enhanced CCB or OAS or later retirement age or doubled military spending or lowered income tax etc etc etc. You COULD debate those policies, but the author doesn’t. Instead it’s listing lots of long ago, sometimes decades old microquotes out of context.

At some people your side has to wake up and realize that it actually has to govern. And a 2013 quote were if you quote the full thing makes it an OBVIOUS joke doesn’t cut it as a 2025 policy. Poilievre isn’t telling us what he will do on most files, and partly that is allowable because his base doesn’t given one crap about policy and just wants the quips like this.

You should be better and demand better.

Heck the author could have added 20 more items if he wanted to. Heck he left out the deficit

Lets look at the policies you mentioned most are there because Trudeau had to to get Jagmeets vote as a minority and occurred in the last few years

Leaving out the (comparatively decent) deficit is a good illustration of my point. The deficit is at least a policy. But the author doesn't talk about policies, he says LOL remember that time in 2013 when conservatives half-quoted something out of context that sounds a bit silly. It's hilarious you guys are still bringing this **** up in 2025. But what actually matters is the actual policies and it is worth noting how conservatives so often don't even both saying anything at all about policy, just utterly substanceless. Except of course of ridiculous exaggerations about the carbon tax which contributes what was is 1/38th of the inflation on food in the last 5 years?

lets look at the policies you mentioned most are there because Trudeau had to to get Jagmeets vote as a minority and occurred in the last few years

Even here, you don't actually criticize a single one of those policies. Are they all great? Who knows. You try to dismiss them, mostly falsely, as being about the NDP, but it's not "these policies are terrible and should be removed" it's just personal BS about how ya'll hate trudeau.

Vapid.

You do realize that is the browser I use so any article I link would have that as the browser. If I used Firefox or Google than that would be part of the link

The person that wrote the article even states his bias as a conservative

That make sense .
Why keep using it if you don’t want to « encourage » bias or fake news ?
Sadly can’t read the article .
Another time .

The guy is Harper's former speechwriter. He is as partisan Conservative as they come, and his bit a decade after Harper is appealing to precisely the lozen types with these endless screeds about remember that time Trudeau said something about China out of context in 2013?????

Lozen laps that **** up.

You seem to be conflating websites with browsers. MSN isn't a browser, nor is Google. Sounds like you're using Edge (which I've always thought of as terrible, but I haven't used it for several years so maybe it's improved) and its default home page is MSN? You can quite easily change your home page, FWIW.

As for the "article", it's a pretty mediocre opinion piece. Some of it is silly, while some of the things referenced are more problematic, but LOL at linking it here as a "great article" about Trudeau's fate.

Correct I am using Edge just used it for a while even with e-mail I use Thunderbird and have Outlook but always end up back at Mozilla Thunderbird

Heck I should switch to Firefox or Google

Even a granola-eating pony-tailed Coloradan, like Peter Zeihan thinks Trudeau, is a clown.

Are you guys actually defending his policies, or did you just feel that article was poorly written?

Kind of a weird "or", as the two things are fairly unrelated - as uke said, there isn't a whole lot about policy in that opinion piece. I don't care about it either way - seems like a pretty standard critique, raising some silly points and some more meaningful ones.

As for Liberal policies, in general I'm in line with many of them if they were executed well. I'm not a big fan of Trudeau these days, and obviously the electorate feels even more strongly, so I'd like to see him gone so the Liberals have a chance of rebuilding once they get their asses handed to them in the next 2-10 months. And in that term, maybe Poilievre will surprise, but I'm not holding my breath - I'd be happy enough if their "common sense" doesn't take us too far backwards in culture war nonsense.

by campfirewest k

Both? The article was terrible. One of the reasons it was terrible that it ignored policy. I generally think the suite of Trudeau policies is pretty effective, like a solid B- kind of prime minister. There are conservative critiques of the policy suite, but that article doesn't try to make them. Or even allude to them.

guy LOVES the culture war nonsense:
Pierre Poilievre told the Winnipeg Jewish Review in an exclusive telephone interview Dec 18, 2024 that he will not tolerate and will “defund” “all of those with a woke anti-Semitic agenda” including at universities who receive federal funding, as well as all federally funded museums. He re-iterated that he plans to “defund” all “those who are imposing a radical, terrifying, toxic ideology” and this will apply to “everything that the federal government controls.” He stated “I will fire government officials throughout my administration who are imposing a toxic woke ideology.
Coming after universities and museums is.........scary.

coming after the terrorists friends (pro Hamas people) is scary if you are a friend of terrorists I get it

The best teacher or professor is the one that you have no clue what their politics are

Folks are voting out the woke folks around the world

by uke_master k

Yes? Is this some game where you pretend to be even stupider than the guy who wants to ban alcohol while being sad at restrictions on child-friendly nicotine products?

Just curious. Not sure what point you were trying to make.

Really not looking good for the governor of Canada. lol at anyone that still supports or defense him.

If I change to something else the Algorithms will still feed me anti Trudeau stuff. Though I regularly get the CBC dude that you posted as well. Hey if its fair and balanced ill read it

You keep forgetting I never voted for Harper in the last two elections he ran . I took a chance on Trudeau and had great hopes. He lost me when he repeatedly lied to CDN's that he was not involved in SNC and that Jody Lynn remembers things differently the same thing he said about the reporter that said Trudeau sexually assaulted. Than low and behold out comes the recordings and still Trudeau refuses to apologize and instead defends his actions as protecting Quebec jobs a total lie . Than fires his Indigenous minister and the women that stuck up for her

That is when I realized he is no different than any politician and after 9 years more corrupt than most

LMAO is “end wokeness” the kind of twitter account you follow in your nootropic induced cognitively enlightened state? Because if so it is a PLEASURE to see you mind at work.

Great argument! Didn't see that coming.

Didn't I just make a post about this? A little bit longer you'll start seeing articles saying how big a mistake legalizing Weed was.

Im pretty sure you don’t hold the sole opinion on 40 millions Canadians .
Doesn’t make it right u find another one .
And it isn’t so much about weed , but it’s about your logical frame saying we should even ban wine ….

Which I think vast majority holding the principle of banning weed would look at you like an alien by including banning wine at the same time ..

by Shifty86 k

Maybe stop spreading Twitter accounts like “end wokeness” and you won’t be made fun of so much?
